Guest guest
dear mr goyalthe coordinates that i filled in are correct, i guess the issue is with the ayanamsa correction. in the other horoscopes that i have the chitrapaksha ayanamsa being used is 23:30:06 degrees where in in jhora in the preferences the degee is 0 for lahiri chitrapaksh ayanamsa. so what is the way to find out the correct rasi.it would be quite helpful if someone could explain it.thanksanshul Posted by: "Patheya Goyal" patheyagoyal patheyagoyal Fri Jul 27, 2007 8:39 am (PST) Dear Anshul, It all depends on geographical coordinates and the ayanamsha you may be using. The latter is purely a question of decision - which one you take and on what grounds of belief/faith/ past experience, etc. However, the former can be looked into a little more accurately. As you would know most places are subject to an approximate calculation in terms of coordinates. But now that you have Google Earth, what you can do is find the exact [more or less] coordinates by specifying the address where you were born and JHora gives you a choice of entering the coordinates. So, hopefully that would help you come to a relatively more reliable set of configurations. I had two horoscopes made previously and in both of them my rasi was Gemini(mithun) though the degree of moon is less than one degree. While checking the same in jhora I find that the rasi is Taurus (vrishabha) at 29degree 50 min. I am a bit confused as to which one should I assume to be the accurate one. I understand that all softwares have limitations but this leaves me confused about my janma rasi. Although in the chalit kundli the rasi is vrishabha in all three cases. Please enlighten if anyone can explain it. DoB 30/3/1974 Place Jaipur(rajasthan) Time 03:30am Thanks anshul Get the freedom to save as many mails as you wish. Click here to know how. Guest guest
Dear Anshul,J-Hora works on the assumption of Lahiri Ayanamsa but it gives various other options, depending on what the user's preference might be. When you say that the other horoscopes you have show 23:30:06 ayanamsa, while the J-Hora preference shows 0 ayanamsa, the two things say the same thing, because, as I said above, J-Hora uses Lahiri Ayanamsa as the norm, which is to say that the other Ayanamsas are fixed in relation to deviations from Lahiri's - in terms of either more or less than ... But rest assured that the other horoscopes are also using, from your description, the Lahiri Ayanamsa, as it calculates to 23:30:06, or, according to some other calculations, to 23:30:07. If you wish, you can send the jhora chart you have made, so that I could take a look what you are trying to say. Now, as for your concern to 'fix' the chart, I think the lagna might give you some strong hints. So, take a look along those lines, as I mentioned in my last mail. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Dear Anshul, It also startled me to find the degrees of Mars for my wife different in Jhora on my old computer than on the new computer I'm using now. What could the reason be for this? Perhaps you are working with a different version of Jhora also? I re-installed Jhora on my new computer from the internet download lately. Before I used a version that was sent to me on a CD. Or it's the computer engine differences? Just to check, please tell me the degree of Mars you get in Jhora for the chart attached.
