Guest guest
I present some general transit observations. We have many gifted " diviners " here. Sincere appreciation to mahal sri Naresimha for his many wonderful gifts of love and learning. To all the esteemed astrologers here, if I am in error in the transit observations, please correct me. Nameste'. The major " transits " are the conjunction, the square, the opposition, and the trine. A minor transit, the sextile, (60 degrees, 2 signs or houses) is also noted. The specific body making a transit will have a distinctly different effect (for example, a transit of Jupiter will be experienced much differently than a transit of Saturn). But in general, all transits operate the same way. As the various bodies cycle around the zodiac, they have their " seasons " . For example, those who live in the temperate regions of the world, with four seasons, fully experience the aspects of the sun. We know that when the sun conjuncts Leo, we will have warmth and sunshine. Three months later, when the sun squares Leo, we have Autumn. Then later, with the sun in opposition to Leo, we experience winter. And when the sun squares Leo again (upper square), we have spring. Although the planets take longer to orbit one complete cycle, they exhibit the same " seasons " as the sun. The specific transiting body, chart, and house provide the details of the transit. The Conjunction. The conjunction is the transit of culmination, manifestation, and rebirth. The conjunction is thus one of the most powerful aspects of transit. Many important events and experiences will occur during conjunctions. The Lower Square. The lower square is the 4th house from the body being aspected. Squares represent times of change, struggle, and difficult issues. The lower square also represents the beginning of the end, just as the falling leaves of Autumn portend the end of the solar cycle to come. The Upper Square. The upper square is the 10th house (growth) from the aspected body. This square is also a time of change and struggle. This is the season of spring, a dynamic time as the warmer air struggles for dominance with the flying winter snow. The Opposition. The opposition is the 7th house (death) from the planet being aspected. This is the dead of winter. Accordingly, the opposition is the aspect of endings and death. The Trines. A powerful trine may be just the influence needed to initiate a positive event or experience. Trines are also known for two other effects. Trines indicate auspicious times or periods. Thus they are useful for planning such events as weddings, vacations, etc. The second benefit of trines is that they help to soften the affects of the harder aspects, the squares and oppositions. Continuing with the season analogy, the lower trine (5th house from the body being aspected) represents Indian summer, when warm mother nature, decked in glorious reds, orange, yellow and gold, nurtures her offspring with ripe vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Similarly, the upper trine, (9th house from the body being aspected), represents springtime, with its warmth and rebirth. When using transits for prediction or planning: If you have an accurate birth time, you should plot the transiting planets on the divisional charts of the Tithi pravesha. In summary, these are general observations for transit reference and interpretation. Open discussion of transit interpretation is encouraged.
