Dear Venkateshwara & Vedavrata,

The Hora counting starts at 6AM LMT. It is not dependent on Sunrise

for 2 reasons:

1. At higher lattitdes ... they dont have a *sunrise*.

2. This method of division of days into Hora's is overlorded by

Saturn, and hence Sunrise is not used.

For more information refer to Lesson#6 or the Hora Lesson in the

*Files* section.

Regards

-Skanda

I have read it but still confused.

So you mean that gems for Buddha should be worn at 6:00 on Buddha-

vara (Wednesday), correct?

Dear Skanda,

The word " hora " came from " ahoratra " . ahOrAtra is geo-specific, as

everybody know. The quantification of hora is defended by

standardization aka calender(?). Is this calender/panchangaam is

universal?

Dear Shri Narasimha Raoji and list memebrs,

What is the basis and use of the 5 minute hora given

in the Jhora software. If Narismhaji is busy can

anybody clear my confusion.

Dear Dewavrat,

One use which I know of is to use it as Prashna Arudha, When you

dont have other means to determine it.

A book called 'Jamma Arudha' supposedly explains it,

Maybe you can ask Narayan Iyer about this.

The one implemented in JHora is different from the Jamma Arudha

book. JHora has the implementation as suggested by Pt. Sanjay Rath.

Warm Regards

Sanjay P.
