Namaste,

I need a help. If you speak an Indian language other than Hindi, Telugu

and Oriya, you may be able to help me.

When charts are drawn in JHora, I want to give planet names in Indian

languages. I don't have enough time/energy to convert the whole program

into Indian languages, but I want to atleast give planet names and chart

names in Indian languages. For example, if I see " ra, cham, ku, bu, gu,

su, sa, raa, ke " in charts in Telugu script, I feel more comfortable

with the chart than if I see " Su, Mo, Ma, Me, Ju, Ve, Sa, Ra, Ke " in

Roman script (the " used to factor).

However, differents states of India have different conventions. In

Telugu, we write " gu " for Jupiter (Guru). In Oriya, they write " bri "

(Brihaspati). In Telugu, we normally write " ku " for Mars (Kuja). Hindi

and Oriya people normally write " mam " or " ma " (Mangala). I understand

that Tamils write " se " or " che " for Mars (Sevvai).

I already have Telugu, Hindi and Oriya names in JH. I need to add

Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi and

Tamil. If you know what letters or names are commonly used in these

languages for nine planets and lagna, please send a mail to

pvr or jhora . I will request you to send the

shortcuts of planets and lagna names in your language and ask you later

to review a .jpg file of a chart with planets shown in your language. It

will take just a little of your time, but help JHora users who speak

your language!

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha
