Dear Swee,

Yes, I have studied quite extensively Zi Wei Do Shou, and also Ba Zi,and using the Tong Shu,with

almost all systems of Feng Shui, some well known some less so. I do

have advanced Diplomas in Ba Zi and Zi Wei from Singapore Polytechnic I.

I have

studied with Chinese Sifus, who insisted on drawing and calculating

everything by hand and wholly, completely with Chinese characters. I am

well versed in the systems.I am also qualified to teach and I have done

so.

Actually,to

call any of these "Chinese Astrology" is somewhat misleading, because

in none of these system do precise or even approximate planetary

calculations play any part. As you are well aware,Ba Zi is wholly

elemental calculation, some of it is very complex and advanced.Zi Wei

is mainly determing the 108 Archetypal energies governing the destinies

of individual. The cyclical progression of Zi Wei, however is highly

useful and accurate for predictive purposes. So is Ba Zi, in the hands

of an expert. That is not to diminish the achievements of the Chinese

sages. On the contrary. Much of these are incredibly useful, and as I

have said accurate!

I have

watched venerable, seasoned Vedic Astrologers sweat over stock market

predictions, which on the other hand can be made easily, with elegance

and comfort using Zi Wei. Each system has it's own usefulness. A

Chinese adept would be clueless about the predictions for twins for

instance, while in Vedic astrology we have elegant methods

differentiating between twins using D-60.We do have our own preferences

however, and I for one will take Feng Shui, especially Xuan Kong over Vastu- any day.

However,

this being a Vedic astrology forum dedicated to a particular lineage, I

will refrain from boring the members on this list, who may be clueless

about these subjects.

I need

to point out, with great respect to you, that the Hsiu, the 28 Lunar

mansions, which is nearly the same as the Manazil of the Arabs, play no

part in either Ba Zi, or Zi Wei. It is used extensively in Tong Shu.

With deep respect to all:

Krishna,

Dear

Swee,

when you

write "Purple Star",

do you refer to "Zi Wei Do Shou"?

And when you write about the 28 constellations, do you refer to the "Hsiu"?

With deep

respect to all:

Dear Goelji,

Namaste

Send button too early; below is the 3 schematics of 28 mapped

out by 1756 and employed in the Purple Star system in Chinese astrology and for

Feng Shui (vAstu) purposes and can be viewed in the Hong Kong Museum.

Love, Swee

27 and 28 Nakshatra schemes

Dear

all,

As all of us know that the basic scheme of Nakshatra division is 27 .

and astrologically each nakshatra is divided in equal parts of 13deg 20min.

This scheme is used extensively in Indian astrology.

Abhijit Nakshatra is carved out of two nakshatra without disturbing basic

scheme.

>From Moon nakshatra , 1st is called Janma

,3rd-Vipat,5th-Pratyari,7th-Vadha,10th-Karma,

19th-Adhana,22nd-Vainaskik etc. These names and their affet is valid for 27

nakshatra scheme. This scheme should not be mixed in any manner with 28

nakshatra scheme.

When we follow 28 nakshtra scheme , some times we try to use names

as per 27

nakshatra scheme , the affects may not be similar.Say a native is born in Moola

nakshatra.

5th nakshatra will be Sravana and in 28 nakshatra it may be 5th. one may call

it Pratyari.

The affect will not be same as this name is valid for 27 nakshatra scheme and

as per 27 nakshatra scheme Dhanista will become Prtayari nakshatra.

Chakra constructed with 28 nakshatra has their specific rules for

consideration.and they

should not be confused with names given in 27 nakshatra scheme.

Regards,
