we r yet to discuss calender reforms here .U r too early to rush here as we never reachd to that sholarly level u or kaul has reached or claims .

 

so pls take ur calender reform else where .

 

kaul is against all hindu astronomy ( even he says hindus stole all european /greek ideas ) and we here discussing abt hindu astronomical concepts which shaped phalita jyothisha ,kaul is supporting all claims of christian preists and his all points are based on their cooked up theories than his own contributions .christin preists had understood hindu vedas what they cud gather frm greedy brahmins ( because they pay money for the services used --i am quoting another scholar vinay shah here ) who may or may not givn full or real meaning of veda's or astronomy of hindus to them .Even i read maxmullar was doubting abt hindu Nakshtras copied from babylone and he has no supporting proof .Because those Nakshtras was arabic in name ,so it clear that frm where babylonains got it .means hindus gave it to arabs and it has reached to babylonia .

kaul is saying all imaginary abstract mathematical theorems used in hindu astronomy like zodiac etc is bull shit ( all mathematical models are like that ,other wise there is no perfect circle or triangle in this earth ) and hindu acharyas who shaped it is charlattans/cheats/frauds .then how kaul can contribute realy for a calender as even this months o/ days/thithi/karana/yoga /vara etc all are imaginary or abstract and it is applicable only to ppl of earth and need not tally with modern astronomy even .even eclipse is not real in bigger canvass if u view it frm far planets .

so the antagonism of kaul against astrology is 99% stupid and one percent true .

 

This one percent of truth to you is disastrous because there is the danger that the one percent truth may deceive you and you will forget the ninety-nine percent which is untrue. So I have been hammering on the ninety-nine percent lies kaul spreads .And the slavery of him to christian ideas has to be broken -- he has to be pulled out of this ditch. But if he thinks that that ditch is a palace then you cannot pull him out. You cannot even persuade him to come out of it;

he even conveneintly forgets that no astrologer or no sidhanthi is paid for their scholarly pursuits if some one wants to re construct history

even kaul discards all historical claims and he supports even theories brought forward by aryan invasion theoriests ,what is all this abt <what it is pointing out ??

means is he working for them ???

> Dear Kishoreji,> You have opened up a vey good topic on Barahmihir.If it was from his time that Kritikadi was converted to Aswinadi,then all the better.The reason for that must be the calender reform due to seasosn change.At present many people are trying for calender reform like Mr. AK Kaul of the Hindu calender forum. there is also a proposal to shift Mesh to Meen sankranti for the same reason Barahmihir and others shifted Kritikadi to Aswiniadi.It is precession which shifts seasons by one day every 72 years as yo also have mentioned. All our festivals are season based.If we do not make these shifts, then we have to celebrate makar sankrant in summr after some centuries.Then it will be like the Moslem festivals, the same festival some time in summer and some time in winter.> May I know if you are in favour of calender reform or not?
