We all want to marry krisha and fall in love with him! So even the polygamy of Krishna is a beauty to him, like a black mole in the cheek! He was living in that bygone past where polygamy was just natural, but still krishna is not bound by neither time or space - he fits in for the whole world for any period of time! He is "here are now", every time everywhere - a perfect model to follow regarding 'enjoying the divine life' and 'being here and now'! As a female I fall in love with Krishna and want to be his arthangana; as a male I fall in love with Siva and want to be arthanareeswara (Siva-Saktya yukto)! I know and always associate Siva-Parvati, but I never ever dare to associate only a single women's name with Krishna - he is never limited and goes beyond all definitions! Among the lot the only name I would dare to associate with krishna even to a bit is only of Radha and none else - and then, there I would fail to understand Krishna!! He is the ultimate god and all poojas end with "Krishnar pana mastu" in case any one has not noticed. Krishna's polygamy too, was not because HE wanted but because the ladies wanted it. Rukmini, sathyabhama, were the ones who wanted to marry him and sent notes / messages to him asking him to take them away. Rest were largely because of political compulsions to avoid war and therefore cause the death of many and also loss of property. even the Kubja episode ........occured because kubja wanted krishna to spend a night with her so she can repay his kindness to her in her own way.........Any way, in those days, it was considered ungallant and irreligeous to refuse a lady any request she made.......... But you may have not noticed that all Poojas do not end with " Krishn ar pana mastu " I would like to know where have you read this strange episode of Kubja wanting to spend a night with Krishna. And any way the story of kubja was told to me by the President of the Ramakrishna mutt in the city where I reside. As far as "Krishnaarpana mastu" goes, as long as the popularly and widely performed poojas go, it is only the ganesh chaturthi pooja where the entire pooja is offered to ganapathi and ganapathi alone. Now if you want to know the source of this too, I would like to say, our kula brahman explained this to me when I over heard him saying "krishnarpanamastu " after performing the gowri pooja on gowri trateeya......... It is only when someone circumvents and produces off the track inputs which do not go deep down commonsense in the mind, that one would ask for the source. I do not believe this story of Kubja having offered herself to Shri Krishna for a night, whoever may have told you this. Because she respected Krishna as the Lord, and knew who He was, from her old birth and was already told beforehand (Prophesised) that when He would arrive, he would relieve her from the physical malady she was suffering from. Read the Chapter " Kshama Prarthana " from the Durga Saptashathi. You will find this written there .
