Guest guest
Dear Rozi ji, Thanks for uploading the file Sepharial%20(1920)_The Kabala%20of%20Numbers%20[212%20p.].pdf about the Kabala of numbers in the files section of the group. Even though Kabala system is now projected as Jewish, Chaldean (Babylonian), Greek, Hebrew, Indian etc by various sects and and there seems to be much varying opinion about the origin and oldness about the system, let me share some info about the indian perspective about this system as well. As per inidan knowledge the word 'Kabila' is used in the sence 'Family or Kula'. They were the Siva worshipers of the Naga sects, and is thought to be ancient than even Rishabhadeva (Adi natha) the originator of Jain religion. It is also cute to note that the word 'Rishabha deva' could mean 'God with an Ox' (Pasupati; Siva). Before becoming Kabali (the one who lives as a Family, and gives importance to family and clan), the Kaula people is thought to have been lived in Bhogabhoomi (land of sex and enjoyment) in Bhogavati puri. This Bhogabhoomi must have been some city in the original staying place of these tradition and people. The original place of the originators of this Tantric cult, which uses Number Squares with Tantric symbolic meaning and a unique philosophy connected with Siva and Sakti, the nameless god worship. Where was this Bhogavati puri, which gets mentioned by many? It must have been in Central Asia itself, in Kamboja or so (in Central Asia, Russia), which seems to be the original home for the Tantric tradition. The wikipedia speaks about Bhogavati as follows -=====================Bhogavati (Hindi: à¤à¥‹à¤—वती), that is, the voluptuous one, was the subterranean capital of the Nagas in the Nagaloka region of Patala. The place is also called Putkari. It is mentioned as Naga capital at (3-57). The foremost of cities which resembles the Amaravati of Deva king Indra, is known by the name of Bhogavati. It is ruled over by Vasuki, the king of the Nagas. Shesha, the foremost of Nagas who is a great ascetic also dwells here (5,103). In the region south-west to Deva territories is the city called Bhogavati that is ruled by Vasuki, by the Naga Takshaka and also by Airavata (5,109). The Ramayana, Kishkindha Kand Sarg 41, mentions about the directions given to southward search party for Sita, prepared by Sugriva under the leadership of Angad, in which several important Vanaras were included - Neel, Hanuman, Jamvanta, Suhotra, Shararita, Shargulma, Gaja, Gavaksha etc. Sugriva told them about the impassable countries and difficult path and said .... "Next you will see Kunjar Parvat. Here Vishwakarmaa built a place for Agastya Muni. This place is one Yojan wide and 10 Yojan high. Here there is Bhogvati city where snakes live, that is why it is impossible for human beings to go there. Here lives the king of snakes - Vasuki Naga. Many terrific snakes guard him. This place is studded in numerous gem stones. Go in this place very carefully and search for Sita. Bhogavati exists as a level in Tomb Raider Underworld.===================== Even though the origin of Kabala number system and philosophy may have some connection with the Tantric traditions in its home lands, it has grown on its on in hands of the various Hebrew and Greek developers of this system. But still the Indian Tantric connections can be easily understood if we compare the Tantric Yantra writing systems and the numeric Yantras popular in Kabala. Finally I would like to state the possible original word meaning of 'Kabala' from a sanskrit perspective as well. 'Kabala' means 'that which spans every where' (God), Kapala means 'skull', the spiritual symbolic of a particular sect of ancient Siva worshipers. Kapalis (people who who worshiped Siva as Kapali), followed 'Kula Sambradaya' (Clan tradition) and believed and had the extensive knowledge of Tantric Yantras, including Tantric numeric ynatras. A correlative study of the current Kabala system and Indian Tantric numerology (depicted in Tantric Yantras) might able to provide much more innovative info - I believe; since both of them seems to have originated from the same source.
