Guest guest
Dear all, I am trying to delineate " jealousy " as a human trait from a chart. I see that the people who are jealous do not have any originality, they usually want to do what others do, but are very successful materialistically (? strong houses of free will). A jealous person often reveals his trait through nasty facial expressions. I have noticed this very closely. He may talk out of impulse (? 2nd house effects) His mind is always agitated. After all, other's soup smells good. (? malefic influences on moon) From my observation, 5th house is important. Malefics in 5th house can give rise to jealousy I would appreciate if you could provide me with details of people who are jealous. I am not interested in any other aspect. Kindly send it to my personal ID, so that we do not fill the groups with all data. Thanks in advance bhagavathi
Guest guest
Dear Bhagavati ji,//From my observation, 5th house is important. Malefics in 5th house can give rise to jealousy//As per classics. jealousy or Dwesha is seen from 6H which is also the house of shadripus. Jealousy/matsar is one of them. 5H in fact is the house of Viveka and negates jealousy. A malefic in 5H would give jealousy as it will destroy the 5H significations (viveka, dhi, etc)I would send you some data for this.RegardsNeelam 2009/3/19 bhagavathi_hariharan <bhagavathi_hariharan Dear all, I am trying to delineate " jealousy " as a human trait from a chart. Guest guest
Dear Bhagavathi-ji and other seniors, This topic is important to me... I wanted to understand the Shadripu and how same manifests thru' natal charts. These shadripu - Kama (desire), Krodha (anger), Lobh/lalasa (greed), Mad (arrogance, Ahamkar), Moha (fascination/false ideals / illusion), Maatsarya (Jealousy /envy) are present in normal people. They are prime motivators in gaining or achieving something. I have noticed that for hardworking people, these traits are helpful to prosper materialistically, provided that these ripu-s are under control. When the ripu controls the people, people get destroyed. (Probably Ravana could be termed as example where Mad (arrogance) led to destruction.). From these observations, it appears to me that all Upachaya houses may have some connection to these Shad-ripus. But I am unable to understand which house is connected to which Ripu. Although Neelam-ji has pointed out 6H is related to shad-ripu... but ... are all 6 ripus are connected to 6H only ? And I have noticed that generally narrow-minded-ness accompanies jealousy. And strength of the traits (jealousy or whatever) is not constant through out the life. People change and their traits do change with time and age. regards Chakraborty bhagavathi_hariharan [bhagavathi_hariharan]Thursday, March 19, 2009 9:00 AM Subject: Data needed Dear all,I am trying to delineate "jealousy" as a human trait from a chart. Guest guest
Dear Chakraborty ji,// it appears to me that all Upachaya houses may have some connection to these Shad-ripus. But I am unable to understand which house is connected to which Ripu.// Please allow me to clarify that it is trishadaya houses which have the connection to shad ripus, not upchay houses, . 6H being the prime worker in this area, 3H is the motivator and 11H provides temptations. Mercury and Saturn between them share the trishadaya lordships and mercury is the worst corrupter being impressionable and quick. Saturn, who is also the karma lord, has power to elevate the status of trishadaya to upchay. Only when we do righteous karma and add 10H, trishadaya becomes upchay (3,6,10,11). Saturn can make one a disciplinarian or a yogi. A good saturn in 6H is thus praised as it exterminates the shadripus, but an inimical saturn in 6H can give vices. Moon is important and the planet afflicting moon and 6H can show which ripu one needs to tackle. While mars is the overall karaka for 6H and all ripus, the details and further categorisation can be made by the influence of different planets on lagna, moon and 6H. Guest guest
Dear Neelam-ji, Thanks for the detailed answer. It helped me a lot. (If the following part looks objectionable, moderators may please remove the same. I want to discuss my chart only as I can not share my friends' charts here,) I would like your comments on MY chart .......whether same reflects Strong Jealousy or any other Shad-ripu. It is Ta lagna, 2H has Me+Ma+Su+Ve, 4H has Ju, 5H Ketu, 7H-Mo (deb) 11H Rahu and 12H Deb Saturn. Obviously, lagna has papakartari. So, the lagna is weak, Mo is deb., Sat is debilitated, Me is afflicted, Mars is combust and uncomfortable, 5H has malefic. Should not it reflect jealousy .... and other Ripu-s ? However, I generally do not feel jealous (most of the times ). 'Get tempted many a times ... but lack guts to do anything. I was narrow minded in past...but (I think so) changed over the years. Neelam-ji, If you do not want to make any comment .. that would be fine with me. regards Chakraborty neelam gupta [neelamgupta07]Thursday, March 19, 2009 12:44 PM Subject: Re: Data needed Dear Chakraborty ji,// it appears to me that all Upachaya houses may have some connection to these Shad-ripus. I wanted to understand the Shadripu and how same manifests thru' natal charts. These shadripu - Kama (desire), Krodha (anger), Lobh/lalasa (greed), Mad (arrogance, Ahamkar), Moha (fascination/ false ideals / illusion), Maatsarya (Jealousy /envy) are present in normal people. They are prime motivators in gaining or achieving something. I have noticed that for hardworking people, these traits are helpful to prosper materialistically, provided that these ripu-s are under control. When the ripu controls the people, people get destroyed. (Probably Ravana could be termed as example where Mad (arrogance) led to destruction. ). And I have noticed that generally narrow-minded- ness accompanies jealousy. And strength of the traits (jealousy or whatever) is not constant through out the life. People change and their traits do change with time and age. regards Chakraborty bhagavathi_harihara n [bhagavathi_ hariharan@ ]Thursday, March 19, 2009 9:00 AMancient_indian_ astrology[ancient_indian_ astrology] Data needed Dear all,I am trying to delineate "jealousy" as a human trait from a chart. Guest guest
Dear Shankar ji,Talking about shad ripus... all the six ripus if put down on a scale, can range from virtues to vices as they are the necessary evils to live in the world, but at the same time their excess throws one out of the gear. Often there is a thin line between virtue and vice. When the six qualities are being observed on the scale of virtues, they would get into different houses as per house and planet significations (as suggested by you). But the scale gets skewed and any of the quality is likely to turn into a vice when trishadya, especially 6H plays a negative role. Kama of 7H becomes may become lust of 6H. When 6 afflicts 12, it is not the spouse who is sought. When Krodha is action, when lobha is for labh in business, when moha is justifies in territorial instinct, when kama relates to social obligations, when mada is self respect and pride, when matsarya is ownership, they remain in their individual houses and a good element of 6th gives a healthy competitiveness for all qualities. The moment 6th becomes negative and overtakes, they turn into ripus. Hope I am able to make my point clear.RegardsNeelam
Guest guest
Dear Neelam ji,Yes I get your point, that the virtues become vices/enemies because of bad 6H. It is well taken. I wish to submit that this could happen for various reasons:1. Satru sthana/6H getting bad (virtues becoming vices) - as you are saying 2. The karakas of the virtues or the houses representing them being afflicted (in which case unhappiness causes those vices) 3. The karakas of the virtues or the houses representing them actually giving success but dharma karakas afflicted (in which case achievements are through wrong means) For instance with kama, 6H influence can make it illegal. A bad Ju-Ve conjunction can also cause adharmic kama regardless of 6H. Having said that, I am open to correction. Guest guest
Dear Bhagavathi ji,I have the details of a very jealous and there fore spiteful person. Even tho it does not exactly fit in with a "model" horoscope of a "jealous person", there are some indicators like 5th lord in 12th, deb moon, budha with ketu, etc. The person is also arrogant and mulish for which a famous astrologer here about says that budha in kuja kshetra or kuja in budha kshetra always makes a person have very stiff and unyielding attitude.DOB:25-6-1953, 14:10pm Udupi, karnataka, Regards,Anita--- On Thu, 19/3/09, bhagavathi_hariharan <bhagavathi_hariharan wrote:bhagavathi_hariharan <bhagavathi_hariharan Data neededTo: Date: Thursday, 19 March, 2009, 3:29 AM Dear all, I am trying to delineate "jealousy" as a human trait from a chart. Guest guest
Pranams,Jealousy, most of us feel it at some time or other. Some people experience it more strongly than others and some even let jealousy consume them. Sometimes the feeling is justified and at other times it is not. It's an ugly emotion, both for the one feeling it and for the person at the other end. The cause for Jealousy is mental uneasiness from suspicion. When ones mind or Mana is disturbed by suspicion uneasiness prevails, bursts into jealousy. So how do we know how much is too much.Astrologically Lagna / Moon raasi represents mind / Mana. When ones Lagna is disturbed by the presence of malefic(s), aspect by malefic or placed in the ‘crutram’ Navamsa or both, it is a cause for habitual unjustified jealousy. Most plain jealousy, common in nature are caused by gochar grha disposition, grha veedha in relation to Moon.Mahadeva says the presence of Venus and Chandr in Lagna causes jealousy; presumably Lagna represents “Manaâ€, Venus signifies strong persistent desire and Moon karak for siddha; Venus, Moon get relatively weakened in Lagna kendra thus cause jealousy. Guest guest
Dear Chakraborty ji, Jealousy is a quality connected with mind. Even though all houses can signify mind in general and 4th in specific - while considering the nature of mind, traditional astrologers gives special importance to - * 3rd house (competitive spirit, determination, taking cruel circular paths, Dur buddhi - corrupted intellect, well versed in bad ways of the word etc) * 4th house (the simple and clean mind; ManaH) * 5th house (intellect, Buddhi) * 6th house (cruelty, ability to face dangers, attitude against enemies etc) If we are limiting ourselves to considering these four houses alone, then - * Malefics in 4th and 5th AND in 3rd and 6th can signify jealousy. Actually it is malefics in 3rd and 6th that CAUSE jealousy, malefics in 4th and 5th only help it by eradicating the purity and simplicity of the mind and intellect. If there is a benefic present in 4th or 5th then, even the presence of malefics in 3rd and 6th can't effectively cause jealousy. Now considering your chart, what is there in it regarding the above point?//> It is Ta lagna, 2H has Me+Ma+Su+Ve, 4H has Ju, 5H Ketu, 7H-Mo (deb)> 11H Rahu and 12H Deb Saturn. Obviously, lagna has papakartari.// * 3rd is Leo and the house is blank, and the house lord well placed in 2nd house. * 4th is blessed by the natural benefic planet Jupiter. * 5th has Ketu in it, a malefic, but placed in the house of a benefic Mercury who is well placed in his own sign in Gemini. So this Ke is supposed to give the results of Mercury, and thus become beneficial. Not bad. * 6th is blank/vacant. Again the 6th lord is a benefic Venus well placed in 2nd house. How you say that the owner of this chart is jealous by nature?!! No way! But certainly there is one thing I would like to tell you - You have Moon in 7th (indicating ego and self centric nature!) present in 7th house. This moon is debilitated as well. This means that you are a bit egotic and self centric as indicated by Taurus Lagna (this lagna is self worshiping by nature) and a debilitated Moon in 7th house. Coupled with your near to FullMoon day birth this can generate an bit egotic self styled, self centric individual. But there is no question about your excellent abilities as indicated by 2nd and 5th lord in own house, nipuna yoga (Su-Me combination), Rahu in 11th etc. Note: Are you Visakaha born like myself - then certainly that can make you egotic. :=) But if Anuradha then I take back my argument. If Trikketta then you are worse egotic than me!! :=)Love and regards,Sreenadh , "Chakraborty, PL" <CHAKRABORTYP2 wrote:>> Dear Neelam-ji,> > Thanks for the detailed answer. Guest guest
Dear Sreenadhji, " " Actually it is malefics in 3rd and 6th that CAUSE jealousy " " It is absolutely right to interpret the Jealousy by these two houses,we can see it in Hitler's chart.Jealousy is important factor of every successful person's personality, in other word every ambitious person have this type attitude, every(Most of them) successful person have burning Jealous desire otherwise he can't forward to compete his competitor. In other word the " dominating in nature " or who " wants to dominate others " are best examples of Jealousy(Consider Sun's role).Jealousy is burning desire to get everything(Which others have but jealousy person does not have) which he wants to get or achieve. But we have to differentiate between Extreme Jealousy nature which lead to destroy everything in Jealousy,it is Psychological disorder that can be judge by Moon and Rahu effects or Bad effects on Lagana and Moon Lagana. Every ruler is right case to judge the Jealousy emotions,Can we consider Sun(Strong) leads to this emotion? We can include all IAS,Political Leaders,CM's,Ministers and all officers in Govt as well as in Private sector. They all having the strong Jealousy nature within them. For data propose a appropriate case of strong Jealousy nature person is :- DOB : 1-2.5.1962 (Midnight) TOB : 2:38 am. POB : Jodhpur (Rajasthan) this person in Jealousy can do everything(Except kill him) bad to the person, whom he feel Jealousy.3rd house occupied by Exal.Sun and Rahu in 6th.Moon is so badly effected. Hope, these data will help for further analysis on this topic. Thanks, M.S.Bohra , " Sreenadh " <sreesog wrote: > > Dear Chakraborty ji, > Jealousy is a quality connected with mind. Guest guest
Dear Sreenadh-ji, I sometimes do feel jealous.....very strongly. Especially, when a strong entity falls - I felt a secret joy. Like one of our very opportunistic Association "leader" - when he fell from his position. Otherwise, I never bother about what other people get - people get what they deserve I know I should not feel so. That was the reason for this query. Regarding egotism.... there was a phase in my life when I craved for praise and probably my own conversations centred around 'ME' only. But after I actually realised a line from Tagore (Rabindranath Tagore), which says that ' To praise myself - I only insult myself. I die every moment by circling around myself' I became aware...and changed myself. And now-a-days..I am oblivious to what others think about me. Regarding Nakshatra ... I do not have exact TOB..so I don't know. Probably not Anuradha (because astroveda com suggests that Anuradha people are very good in keeping their bosses happy - it is opposite here). So, Probably Vishakha. From the descriptions ... I would not go for Trikketra. Most of my good jobs .. (few technical write-ups for Intl mags)... I put juniors name ..or sometimes, my bosses' name. May be 10th lord Sat in 12H part or may be Ketu in 5H (5H is Sun's house ..showing the illumination. Ketu may negate that...my understanding only) regards chakraborty Sreenadh [sreesog]Sunday, March 22, 2009 12:53 AM Subject: Re: Data needed Dear Chakraborty ji, Jealousy is a quality connected with mind. Guest guest
Dear Neelamji, Dear Bhaskarji, Dear Sreenadhji and all other learned members since my child hood days i have observed that with whomever i come into contact (only females) except one or two here and there, they become jealous of me. during my school days it was my own teachers who wanted to harm me. later i realised that whereever i am or where ever i go, i was facing this problem. infact i am so good natured, good hearted, helping, (Good looking - i used to do lot of programmes of TV), treat elders with respect but still they get jealous of me. it includes my own sister who was so jealous of me that she stopped talking to me when i was in my highschool. the reason was, whenever i went out with my family to attend functions, people used to enquire about me with my parents for their sons. after marriage it was my s-i-l and m-i-l (they were the ones who wanted despearately me to be a part of their family). and in the office, neighbourhood i am facing the same problem. and where in trouble, it was i who has to help them. I dont have a correct date of birth. i am also into astrology to find out more about me. but still not able to. so i want u learned ones to solve this puzzle and help me pl. men are attracted to me and women even though they like me, they backbite about me. My astrology teacher told me that the reason for this is that i make them feel inferior by my good nature and my hard work and also by looks and he has suggested me to wear coral in ring finger. i am desparate to know more about this. can anyone guide or help me.
