Guest guest
Dear Friends, BPHS adopts and recommends the day equivalent to one degree moved by sun i.e. a year is equivalent to 36o degrees movement of Sun. This is equivalent to about 365.25 civil days. The savan year of 360 days is called the soul of all calenders as this was used for astrological calculations.Dasa periods can not and should not be calculated bases on 360 day calender(Please refer Mansagri). Present day astronomers has adopted the standard epoch J2000.0 corresponding to 1d.5January,2000 TDB(JD 36525.OO). When maharshi Parashar conceived the dasha sytem, or when maharshi Jaimini conceived them which calendar was in vogue? It was not the 365 year calendar of today. The traditional Indian calendar had always been of 360 days based on the moon. Since all the dasha systems are worked out based on the Nakshatra traversed by moon therefore it is logical to use the nakshatra varsh or the lunar year of 360 days while working out the dasha. Just one more thing, work out the Lal Kitab dasha through Raman’s Ayanansha. You might get better results. No harm in experimenting.
