Dear Members,

Lord Parashuram has been an " ideal character " and surely if some

sanskrit verses are avaiable relating to his birth ....wonderful....but

do not find them in normal literature..... only old pandits should be

able to say if it is given in any of the old manuscripts.

Technically 6 planets exaltation is NOT possible.... as mentioned by

Mr. Prafulla ji.....

Dear Members,

The exaltations of the six grahas might not have been in the sense that we understand today, as the "Rashis" came into use only towards the end of the Dwapara yuga. However we expect Prafulla to tell us the source of his inforation and let us assess if that source is authentic.

Exaltations in those days might have meant that grahas were in the nakshatras, of which they were the rulers ie. they were probably the adhidevatas or pratyadhidevatas. Today one has to take the help of a software, if any such software is available at all, which can go back to about 9000 BCE.

Dear Mrs.Sunita Joshi,

Lord Parasurama is said to be living in Mount Mahendragiri in Kanyakumari District in modern Tamilnadu state.I visited Kalakkadu which is the foothill of Mount Mahendragiri where in the mountain there is Lord Nindranambi Temple in Thirukurungudi. And in the Mountain top is the Feet of Lord Parasurama. There is a belief that Yakshaas, Devaas, Gandharvaas and Siddhaas are said to visit this temple every Fullmoon nidnight. And the locals claim that that its true.On every Fullmoon nightthrough the locked Doors of the Temple people can clearly see someone doing Aarati to the Lord Nindranambi but none is visible and on next day of every Fullmoon days there people can seethe Kunkuman, sandal and Vibhdi in the Sanctom

Sanctoram of the Lordwhich is really a mistry.Since, Vibhuti is used only in Saiva temples and never in Vaishnava Temples.Which is a valid point. And I have visited This temple with my family and enquired about it.The local people claim all the above mentioned information as proof for the Devaas, Yakshaas, Gandharvas and Siddhas visiting this temple and they staying in Mahendragiri. I am researching on it.

Yours faithfully,

Namaste All,

This is an interesting discussion, as I have been reading the stories

behind these vedic deities for quite some time. One jyotishi, by the

name of Gauranga Das, has devised a table to analyze the qualities of

the planets in the Siddhamsa chart (D24). Among other deities, he is

using Parasurama as one of the rulers of the 24 points or divisions

in the chart.

I am not sure how he justified the use of these deities in the

siddhamsa chart. Does anyone know of how to interpret the planets in

this particular varga?

hi

For Thirunelveli, there is a direct train from mumbai.

'Mumbai-Nagercoil express'. Thirunelveli is also famous for other rare

temples like 900 years old uchhista ganapathi temple, gandhimathi

amman temple, etc...one can also visit nearby places like

sankarankoil, srivilliputhur etc....all are within 1 hour drive only

by bus. Frequent services are available.

Hope this helps you
