Guest guest
Dear Vinayji,In the earlier mail I mentioned about Rahu and Ketu being mathematical points. These points are considered as astrological planets as they give maximum negative effects when there is linearity in the positions.of the Sun, the Moon and the Earth. Our ancient greats could find that even at other times these points appear to move and they could perceive a revolution of these planets and their varying effects. These achievements are really great considering the extensive mathemetical work coupled with actual observation of the night-sky for very long time periods had to be carried out by our ancestors. Their efforts and achievements are no less than today's scientific achievements.Regards,SKB--- On Tue, 1/13/09, Sunil Bhattacharjya <sunil_bhattacharjya wrote:Sunil Bhattacharjya <sunil_bhattacharjya Re: Back to discussions Date: Tuesday, January 13, 2009, 12:10 AM Dear Vinayji,The physical planets been identified from the ancient times so I will not like to think of them as not being astrological planets. For example the festival of "Kumbha" is connected with the presence of the physical planet Jupiter in the Simha rashi. The effects of the planets on the human beings and on the earth depend on the combination of several factors, as has been mentioned in my mail sent yesterday. Probably you have overlooked that mail, where I was talking of the interdependence of these factors and the resulting fuzzy effect. The astrological planets Rahu and Ketu are however the mathematical points to describe additional effects of the relative linear positioning of the Sun, the Moon and the Earth. For this kind of advanced work as well as for the Geocentric mathematical work one must salute the ancient greats and no scientist can demean them. Like they have their own place the modern scientists too have their place. Here I am not talking only about the academically trained scientists. I include them also who have faith in science. It appeared that you have assumed that the modern astronomers are not aware of the interdependence of the effects of the various factors and that the scientists consider only the masses of these heavenly bodies.
