Guest guest
Dear Vinay ji, I was attending a lecture on computation of Panchangas in India, and was told that the Sarvanand Laghav method is the best and most accurate, matching the planetary positions of the Rapheals . Rest methods are not so accurate. Due to inaccuracy and different methods adopted , we have different and inaccurate Panchangas in India. Your take...... regards/Bhaskar. Guest guest
What I reported was not any individual's view, but decision of large number of recognized authorities, which you are equating with the opinion of someone whom you do not even name ! In panchanga-maker's parlance " Laghav " is used for those treatises which have no theory and are crude texts meant for time-savng . Laghav implies a SHORT-CUT method, Laghav is a derivative of Laghu = short). There are many such panchanga-making handy books of late medieval and modern ages which bear the suffix -laghav. -VJ , " Bhaskar " <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: > > > Dear Vinay ji, > > I was attending a lecture on computation of Panchangas in India, and was > told that the Sarvanand Laghav method is the best and most accurate, > matching the planetary positions of the Rapheals .
