Guest guest
Hello All... I would appreciate if anyone can cite for me a classical reference to " Abhijit Muhurta " in which it is stated that this period of time is set for midday when the Sun is at the Midheaven? Thanks, Juliana
Guest guest
Namaste, " Abhijit Mukurtha " is " Madhyahna(Noon) Mukurtha (48 minits) " ,it is arrived at by dividing the Dinamana [ local day time duration from Sun rise to Sun set / " Ahahpramana or Ahahas " ] by two and the quotient represent mid-noon time* and the period of 48 minutes i.e., twenty four minutes each on either side of the mid-noon time of a day is called " Abhijit Mukurtha " .This mukurtha is said to protect us(kartha) from innumerable doshas.Refer sloka 137 and 138 of Kaalavidhanam a Tamil scripture - By Prof.C.G.Rajan. Similar references are also found in another Tamil scripture " Periya varushadhi nool " . For e.g.,Sun rise 6am and Sun set 6pm,then 12 pm noon would be mid-heaven. Abhijit Mukurtha would be from 11.36 am to 12.24 pm. With regards, D.Sathiyanarayana Gupta. " jai.ma " <jai.ma wrote: Hello All... Guest guest
Namaste, I hope these are all ancient Sanskrit scriptures collected / procured for publication by celebrated Pandits . The present Publisher's preface only proclaims their rights for publication but silent about its source / its ancient origin. On line soft copies of Tamil Astrological literature are not available. With regards, D.Sathiyanarayana Gupta. " jai.ma " <jai.ma wrote: Thank you, Mr. Gupta, very much for this valuable information. Are these scriptures very ancient and are they available online?
