These are given in Valmiki Ramayana and the pauranic Adhyatma Ramayana. So it is not proper to doubt the authenticity of these data without considering the astronomical practice of those days. Secondly the "Rashis" were not used in the Treta yuga. They came to be used much later in the Dwapara yuga. Valmiki Ramayana does not mention any Rashi. In those days the exaltation was based on the position of grahas in nakshatras. Your contention that Budha is neecha (as it is the Meena rash) was not indicated in the Ramayana of Valmiki. In Lord rama's horoscope there were five exalted grahas ie. the Sun, Jupiter, Mars, Saturn and Venus. The Moon and Budha were in their own houses. It is correct to consider Revati to be Budha's own house as Buddha was the owner of that house. B.V.Raman was a scholar. He calculated the dates of birth and death of Lord Krishna correctly but he failed to determine the date of Lord Rama. So in a discussion about Lord Rama's date it is not proper to bring in the name of B.V.Raman. I was told that there were a lot of discussions on the date of Lord Rama in this group before my joining the group and I have no express interest to rake up the closed subject again into discussion.
