Dear Vinay, Bhaskar ji is right. Provide the Nakshatra at the time of birth (this will fix the day), and Lagna (this will fix the time in a 2 hour span) as well. Any other info present in the hand made chart you have such as Tithi, Nitya yoga, Karana etc or the information available on Navamsa prositions are welcome. With aquarius ascendant...How can Mercury be in lagna?How can sun be in 2H at midnight?It is Aries lagna with mercury in lagna on the 17th May 1950. Precise time can be fixed if he gives some details about the native and we're able to work out the navamsh.

Please re-check . He has not given us the house positions but the sign positions.

Apart from the time i have fixed, no other tiome will allow the Sun and Moon to remain in one sign, or Mars to remain where he has mentioned.

house, if you think he meant that, and not the sign, then he must also

be knowing the meaning of sign, and what number is mentioned in the

first house ? I dont expect him to call them a house and not know the

signs .

Dear Neelamji,

 

We normally do not make such mistakes at this age. I had already read

ion the first instance that he has mentioned " House " but was wondering

that how could he know the meaning of this, so probably he has seen the

numbers in the houses and mentioned the planets placed therein. I

figured that it would be too much of a coincidence that he has written

first house and meant that, and also meant that it is Aries for his

Lagna, in the same vein.

Dear Neelamji and Vinay ji,

First of all let me confess that the time of birth i had said in my mail, is perfectly right, but only for a Bombay birth ( I did not read the Delhi birth Part )

Next in this mail Vinajji says that the Lagna is Dhanu, which means that he was not talking about the houses just like i said, but only about signs, which is what i had assumed.

Finally, if we take the Lagna as Dhanu, Vinayji, then Mars moves to No.6 House as per your language ( Virgo sign ) and does not remain with Saturn. but i would not blame the Punditji who made the chart and placed the planet in the no.5 sign. In those days we did not have access to calculators or computers. And your Mars at birth was 0.49 degrees. Virgo so actually cant blame the pundit .

Next assuming that your chart Lagna is Dhanu, then you must have been born on 17th may, 1950 at app. 21.06 pm. because if we move any further than your Mars is at 0 degrees at this birth time, will also move further, and i dont think the pundit can make so big a mistake that even after seeing Mars at greater degrees he would still put it in Leo. which means that this time must be perfect.

According to the hand made horoscope, the Nakshatra is Rohini in its 3rd

Charana, and the Lagna is Dhan. It also says Jyestha month सिते ( guess

it

means Shukla)' paksha, Tithi is 1||2|हे : परà¥à¤¤à¤¾ 2, Ghati is 38/45.

attach with this mail copy of the hand written one for your reference.

 

According to a learned senior who tried to help, the correct date & time

should be 20.58.20 hrs on 18th May 1950 in Delhi. But if I take that time

& date I find that the Nakshatra Rohini was at that time in its 4th

Charana, and also that Mars would then be in the 5th House instead of

being in the 6th House as in the hand made chart.

 

I do not know how important it is that the chart and the details should

unravel the 'mystery' since a long time. Being a novice, I committed some

Now as per calculating Ghati and converting it into Delhi time on the 18th , since your Nakshatra as revealed by you is Rohini, the time of birth comes out to 21.01.09

I leave it to you to figure out why the Punditji has made a Sagittarius Chart for you, and why he has put Mars in the House no. 5 , and what predictions match your actual Life, whether by Scorpio Lagna, or Sagittarius Lagna.

There is a calculation mistake

This should be

So Lagna Should be Scorpio not Dhanu As stated earlier.

Dear All, Considering approximate sign arc lengths to arrive at the possible Lagna is just like assuming that, a sign is equal to 2 hours. In this case the date was May 18. That meas sun was at the beginning of Taurus sign. The BT in Khatika was 38/45, which is equal to 15 hours 30 min. If we allot 2 hours each to signs Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra and Scorpio (total 7 signs) we get 2 x 7 = 14 hours. Naturally we may assume that possibly the Lagna is the next sign Sagittarius. (14+2 = 16 hours. 15 hrs 30 min is within this) We may assume that the astrologer who put Sagittarius as Lagna might be correct. But when we really calculate, it reveals to us that the above approximation was wrong, and that after 15 hrs 30 min from sunrise (5.32 for that day in Delhi), in reality the Lagna was in Scorpio. Yes, this is a common mistake - that even the astrologer who casted the chart also might have committed. I won't blame the astrologer who prepared the chart. Usually in villages it happens that the native comes to the astrologer for a chart and would be ready to pay just 10 or 20 rupees only for preparing the same. The astrologer too would not like to spend much time on those charts and so will take the planetary position using some Panchanga (ephemeris) locally available. He did not had access to computers etc as we have today which gives the correct planetary position and other details at our finger tips. They had to calculate everything manually. With such feeble payment and considering the effort involved in doing the detailed calculation, usually the astrologer will resort to approximation. Even when he does know how to calculate and arrive at correct values, if will feel that it is not required or useless, and will provide an approximation to the native and will give a primary ready. This makes both the native and astrologer happy for the moment. And the usual end result? That is what we have seen just now. That is what even I will do, if I was not paid enough for my efforts, or if I don't have time – while working as a professional astrologer. There fore I won't blame the astrologer (Pandit) involved for this mistake in calculating Lagna. Dear AllI am not a student of Astrology but there was one point in Sreenathji's answered which rung a bell...Local Panchagram and the Almanac and main Panchagram differ. For matters on determining the Lagna and the position of the star at birth, which is pure mathematics, the slightest decimal point can strictly make a difference. There ar certain tantric astrological combinations which normally are

kept secretive and not allowed to be known commonly. One boy living near

me has one of these combinations, he is 20 year old boy and he has such

a combination in his chart, that whomever childless couple he blessese

with a child, they will soon have one. When I told this to that young

boy, he laughed it off, and of course his mother , I have already told

her, and also added that his energies must not be wasted in such

blessings to anybody unless important. And she too is not interested.

She does not want her sons spiritual capital to be frettered away or

come in public view.

 

Such combinations are there, but we do not have access to them, because

this comes from Vam panthi type of learnings.
