The key contributors of these extracts are also prominent members of this group. We take it one by one.*Regarding the houses, *books per se will have no place in the chart. If I ask you where do you see elephant in a chart, will you be able to say? It is only when I relate to something, we get to see it through the houses and place it in the relevant house. So it is important to identify *what I do with the books*. Unless and until we're able to connect native's relation with the books, we cannot place books in a chart. This relationship will be dynamic and change with age and his life cycle. A student might be dealing with books but later he may not even read a newspaper. Whereas another person will be heavily into reading habits.When we see books in relation with self it could be:*My books, as my possessions, in 2H*. What is the purpose that these books serve,could be seen from the houses which connect as secondary houses.My reading habit, and loud reading in 2HMy effort for reading 3HMy writing books, 3H/5HMy reading and learning material may be 4H/5H?My sacred learning 9HMy secret books, like porn etc. 8H*If I am a writer/author, * books are my creativity and fall under 5H. Then again all the above will connect depending upon what I write.*If I am a publisher or a printer*, then 3H will show books and 10H will relate to activity with books.*Regarding the karakas* or the planets, mercury and mars will primarily make books as such. Mercury is paper and mars is ink.If it is a book on astrology, we can say + Jupiter.A coffee table book on arts will surely have + venusAn old manuscript will have + SaturnA porn book will have an element of + Rahu in it.So we go on differentiating like this. With this modern age, we have electronic books also. So the list is endless.Primarily you will be required to specify the purpose of books in the native's life, then only we can try to locate them in a chart. In my own case, I have very strong connection with books ever since I can remember. Budh is also supposed to be the karaka for communication. I think it would be wrong to ascribe Gyan or types of gyan to one Planet or types of planet. For eg I had witnessed a child with 5th house Rahu + Sun + Jupiter ( Mithun Rasi ), being described by a proffessional astrologer as one who will " have great gyan". Another astrologer ( who has studied in BHU ) during a long telephone conversation told me that the planet rahu is giver of secret gyan and not nessasarily of the negative variety. I think you should look at combinations. Sun + Budh = Maths or accounting or managerial books. I think you missed few serious points, recall my example in that original post and return back to yours again, for you have been on the lists for a time, hope you got few better bytes of astrology than others... All planets give different types of Gyan{Gyan= knowledge} For Gemini Lagna, 5H = Libra Sign = Architect nature = Imaginative ideas= A sign ruled by Venus known for sensous nature and Judgement. Rahu is a radical, 5H being a House of creativity, is giving raise to radical thinking i.e. beyond conventional theories, With Sun = give all subjects related to Sun i.e administration...etc { sun = related education subjects} + Jupiter = a idealist nature or fixer to rules.... All put together gives raise to technical education depending upon dasha & nakshatras.. the native can also go into Bachelor of Arts{B.A. (Arts)} or finance education or related books reading. Secret knowledge comes from when connected with 8H. Coming back to your point Mercury = comminication = is one attribute..... cannot get stuck there.....
