what astro combination in chart make some one a manda budhi .

manda budhi mean those who dont hav the intelligence of ordinary persons and they can liv only by the help and support of others .It also givs tension and mental problems for thier parents and relativs too .

when intellect ( budhi ) is not devlped those persons we can call manda budhies ,And it is happening because of various reasons ,some r birth defects ,some cases it comes tru sickness happneing in child hood ,in some cases it can happen tru accidents and the brain affected .Now a days i find even the vaccines ( it is the most contributing factor and being discussed in devlped world and in india we r still dont bother abt it and we r becoming testing ground of all MNC medicinal comapnies ) even some medicines prescribed for pregant mothers can b a contributing factor and ayurveda was against giving medicines ( some medicines esply ) to pregant woman other than a spl charya and herbal food .Also some equipments used while delivery also can b a contributing factor .

if all this r good placement ,condition and subha drishti etc can giv good intellegent person and otherwise depending on concetration of afflction the problem can b little to serious ones.

In Hora ( viyoni janma prakarana ) it is said the strnght and quality of lagna ,sun ,moon and guru is reason for human birth and if this is decresing it can giv animal birth to trees and plants .

so in case of manda budhies we can assume and take this above said places and planets (lagna ,LL ,sun,moon ,guru ) will b weaker along with 5th house .

Based on above pointers one can expand this and giv own versions too based on exprnce and knowledge .

Dear Shri Sunil Nairji,

Apparently manda buddhi is not seen in this chart.

But on closer inspection, the following points are discovered.

Faulty Combinations -

Moon is aspected by a debilitated Mars.

Moon is in the Raashi of Saturn . Moon is in the constellation of Sun

( Badhaka Lord ). Saturn too is placed in the badhaka sthana

as well as in the constellation of Sun ( Badhaka Lord ).

The karaka of Buddhi, Mercury is again placed in the constellation of

Saturn placed in the badhakasthana, 11th house.

Sun placed in Rahus Constellation and Rahu placed in the badhakasthana.

A deblitated Mars square Venus on exact degrees.

Uranus in degreecal conjunction with the Lagna Lord Venus.

Venus the Lagna Lord in constellation of Jupiter placed in

the badhakasthana.

Saturn aspecting The Sun and also the Lagna Lord.

Conclusion :-

90% of the planets are connected to the Badhakasthana in one way

or the other. 2 planets debilitated and mostly the others are afflicted.

Shows a recluse type of personality. 12th house is operative along with the 11th house most of the Life. Decesion making would be disturbed in great measures, and mind would be unfocused, and Life would be equal in gains and pains. Success in any form would not be easy as many impediments, hurdles and obstacles would have to be overcomed before reaching the same.

Would do good as a Preacher seated at one place.

DearSunil ji,

Based on your short description as to what conditions make a native

manda budhi...let me give a try..

The only benefic in a kendra is Moon. But it is afflicted by

debilitated 2HL & 7HL Mars, a maraka for Libra Lagna. Moon is in its

enemey's house. On the other hand Moon is in digbala and in shukla

paksha.

Lagna and LL are afflicted by Saturn and by debilitated Mars.

Sun is debilitated and afflicted by Saturn and by debilitated Mars.

5H is afflicted by debilitated Mars. 5H is aspected by Saturn too, a

malefic. But as it is said that when the lord of a house aspects its

own house, the particular house gets strengthened it may lessen the

malefic effect a little. Again 5H is afflicted by Rahu and Ketu.

All the natural malefics afflict 5H.

5HL Saturn is in Rahu-Ketu axis, hence afflicted.

Jupiter is afflicted by Saturn, Rahu and Ketu. This " budhi karaka

guru " and Rahu are in the same degrees. Hence doubly afflicted.

The native was born in the Major period of debilitated Sun and Sub

period of heavily afflicted Jupiter, the 6HL. The dasas unfolding

thereafter too seem to be not beneficial for the native.

Conclusion: the native may be a sickly person from birth. May be

manda buddi too...but then I doubt it as you would not give an

obvious case:)

Dear Sunil-ji,

Following is may attempt, based on my little understanding.

The buddhi part will be based on lagna, LL, Moon and Mercury.

The development will also be based on dasha faced so far.

Also the 5H will have some say.

Lagna has LL in lagna, not combust, getiing aspect of Saturn

and Mars. It has also a deb. Sun. But, my understanding is

LL is not severely afflicted.

The Moon, although in uncomfortable sign, is okay, The

aspect of Mars is not worrisome. Mars is probably getting

a NBY as it is in kendra from Lagna, Sun and Moon.

The 9L & 12 L Mercury appears to be quite week. It is

in initial degrees in a fixed sign. Also 2H lord is a bit weak

despite its NBY. It appears that some problem in speech

(stuttering ?) may be there in initial life.

5H has Ketu .. in Saturn's sign .. aspected by AK Saturn,

Jup and rahu. I don't know what does that mean. But 5H Ketu

should not be that bad for buddhi.

Based on the initial dashas . (Sun, Moon, Mars) it appears

to me that

- The person had problem in speech in initial yrs. May have

some other neurological problems too (Dyslexia ?). But

later the problem was overcome gradually.

This is how it appears to me.

I would like to share my thoughts on the above sub. the first 15-16yrs of a

child

are the formative years of intellingence and analytical approach. if the maha

dasa's

operating during this period are afflicted it definitely impacts intellectual

ability of the native.

some times a mahadasa after the age of 16yrs are favourable then the native who

might not have achieved in the early years but suddenly there is a change in the

native and he may develop an art or may become good in service areas like

electricals etc.

in this native the venus mahdasa, saturn and ketu pratyantar can trigger his

intellegence and surya mahdasa can also bring some change in the native's

thought process/intelligence.

Looking at Moon placement, 4th and Saturn in 11th, we can tell that

this person is into Sanyas and teaching/preaching. 10th house, shows

about the physical activity to earn living (sadhu - begging for food

types - alms on plate - true for temple Nambhoodris/Visaka star

people). He has to flex muscles to earn bread. Good in calculations,

as there is Mars connection in 10th (possible earnings from Govt.

Pujari?). He would have friends from all abroad, based on the

Dear Sunil Nairji,

There would not be many takers here. Those self designated astrologers, who were very much vocal about everything else in the Forum, other than contributing any one cent in astrology, but worried about their worthless images, and eager to capitalise on every available opportunity to push others in the corner whom they find more superior than them, where are they now ?

They would not appear now but remain in their darkness of ignorance, lest they fail. This fear of loosing makes them eternal loosers.

I am just talking only about those who contribute here to worthless mails and misutilise the space to make their unkempt appearance felt here, but will never talk about astrology, except when their queries come forward, that too, to find some pockets in the astrologers answer whom they wish to push to the wall. Their time is only spent to " How to try to put others down ".

I am not talking of those silent lovers of astrology, or the less active members, who though may be less active, nevertheless would not contribute in any manner to spoiling the image of any selfless worker here. i respct all those silent and less active members who remain less active or silent, but at least not try to put down any other member but just keep watching the proceedings of the forum and learn.

Dear Sunilji,

My observations in charts of " Manda Buddhi " , besides moon, sun,

jupiter

Mercury has a great say in these charts- mercury is the karaka for

speech. Mind and Speech act together, if the person cannot speak

right, he would appear manda buddhi, that would impact his action.

Then association of LL and 12th L also creates a similar situation.

then ofcourse running dasa may make a person temporarily manda buddhi.

Now in the given chart, the native's mercury is his 12L, it is in

4deg Sc, actually placed with LL in the bhava. The native cannot be

intelligent. Mercury is combust in 2nd house, 2nd lord is also

debilitated, he might fumble or should have speech problems, such as

inability to express

So far, his running dasa also has not been favorable for him.

He would be like a philosopher, his 10th lord has given its amsa in

Kumbha. Most of the time he would be sitting blank. If his planets

were strong, this combination could have given him a research type of

career. It is interesting to note that most scientists and

researchers may also fall under the category of Manda buddhi becuase

they get so involved in their research, they do not take note of

common things in life. They are not sociable people, love a secluded

life. They take more than 30mins to drink a small cup of coffee

becuase their mind is so much afflicted that they even forget that

they are holding a cup of coffee and they are supposed to drink. If

they are successful they can become nobel laureates, if not they

become learned lunatics

baskaran ji all this yrs we r trying to make this grp in full participation discussion grp .We always think atleast 100 memebrs are ready to participate in discussions and sharing charts and subsequent queries and discussions and suggetions or doubts based on pointers which is being discussd other than guerilla style of squeesing to get a reading ,then we all would hav benefited far .U know there was a discussion on reserch and i gone in silent mode because of this reasons .every one wants the other fellow to do the work and he enjoys the benefits and then talk abt the commercialisation in astro .Do u think or do any one who think free astro can contribute to the devlpment and sustainment of this knowledge and if they can share their secret we r ready to follow it too ,See here we r not even asking any thing but a followup ,some queries ,which can tickle our brain cells ,which can remind ourself that where we lacks .But see this is the attitude of many .

a. mentally retarded/brain injury?

b. of normal intelligence but neurotic, phobic, etc.?

Dear Sunilji,

I would like to attemt this chart. I can only comment on the obvious

indications.

Lagna lord is debilitated, afflicted by slow Saturn and aggressive

Mars. The Sun is in the enemy sign with the enemy. Not at all

conducive to independant thinking. Sun is in the headless Ketu's

nakshastra.

Moon is afflicted by Mars and sitting in the enemy sign. Moon has rasi

dristi (Jaimini) from Saturn and Rahu, which is regarded as a

permanant affliction. Thus the mind is under heavy affliction.Mon is

in the debilitated and heaviliy afflicted Sun's nakshastra.

5th house has Gulika and ketu in it. 5th is aspected by Mars, Saturn,

Rahu and functional malefic Jupiter. Thus the house of intelligence is

throughly afflicted.

Finally the Dhi shakti karaka Jupiter is afflicted by Saturn and Rahu.

Furthurmore it has become a functional malefic. These are all signs og

manda buddhika.

Only Mercury (his reasoning power I think) is not much afflicted.

Has he got a congenital heart problem ?

I do not understand how you got Lagna lord debilitated, it is in its

own sign, while lagna has 11th lord debilitated in it

you maybe right, 5th house has ketu and Gulika as per Jhora, and also

if we see the natural 5th house, that also has malefics. Hence, the

5th house matter/s is afflicted, so could be intelligence, heart,

stomach, skills etc

All 3 Lagna’s/Lagna Lords are afflicted implying a “weak”

body and constitution which

maybe the reason behind the reliance on others? As far as Budhi (intellect) goes

I don’t feel it is impaired as Both Karaka Mercury is unafflicted as well

as Both Lords of Aqu (5th Hse) Sani & Rahu are unafflicted with

Jupiter in 11th Hse.

Dear Sunilji, here are some pointers, but i also feel the person after all this affliction may rise in life .

is she staying somewhere in North of her birth place? Is she involved in some creative/performing job ?That may do her well.

Sun is debilitated in lagna ( karak for 1st and 9th house) and is also badhakesh lord afflicting the lagna lord. venus being the 8th lord as well, with Sun will bring in many transformations into the natives life. But badhakesha associated with 8th lord afflicting LL dhi doesn't bode well.

The badhaksthana is also heavily afflcited by presence of saturn , rahu and jupiter ( 3rd and 6th dusthana lord)forming the chandala yoga. Jupiter is karak for dhi and vivek and is mostly afflicted in all the vargas. Jupiter being 3rd and 6th lord her inititatives, intelligence and competitive power show weakness. while 4th and 5th lord mental and emotional states ,foundation/ studies , future/ achievements saturn rahu are conjoined 3rd and 6th lord in 11th with a weak badhak dispositor. Saturn is ak going through the ordeals at this end , while venus LL at other end with badhakesh and 8th lord itself. I think she may have tried hard to get educated, with success.

Debiliated mars in 10th shows her ways of working and power and it is in digbal, so she may come across as changing her actions frequently. Moon again in digbal in inimical movable sign aspected by mars points to her finding difficulty in balancing mental and working state.

Neech mars is also placed in arudha lagna which builds her image.
