Guest guest
Dear friends, I have a beginners question about navamsha. Please reply if it is worth replying. As I understand, a specific navamsha ( Aries or Ta etc.) may come from 9 rashis or more specifically, from 9 Nakshatras. I have also seen an article by Mr. Rayudu about different categories of nakshatra (paramoccha, uccha, neecha, paramneecha etc) and and their different levels of effectiveness. Does the source of navamsha (nakshatra and their class) effect in anyway the results ? regards chakraborty neelam gupta [neelamgupta07]Monday, August 04, 2008 9:15 AM Subject: Re: Re: Lagna Navamsa Series (Aries Lagna) Dear Renu ji,Thank you for testing the principles. That was a great job. I would request others also to check the applicability of these tenets. We cannot expect to match all the traits... a lot will also depend on the other influences on lagna/LL. Even the prevailing dashas have an impact on personality. I have seen new and different personalities emerging in different dashas.RegardsNeelam 2008/8/4 renunw <renunw (AT) (DOT) co.uk> Dear Neelam ji, First let me thank you for comprehensive post covering every aspect of Navamsha position of an Aries Lagna native. Please find the principles you have mentioned being checked with an Aries native + Virgo Navamsha and see how far the contents are appicable/not. 1. In anciSixth Navamsa: The native will be dark in complexion, soft in disposition, will have eyes, akin to that of a deer, be tall in stature, will have irregular (defective) stomach and hands, be a eunuch, be timid and garrulous. The native is not dark in complexion but very fair. Not very tall. Small eyes..not akin to that of a deer. Not euncuh, not timid and garrulous. 2.Virgo Navamsh: will be happy in his boyhood, will have knowledge of arts, be impotent, thievish, have few sons, be fortunate, attached to others' works, liberal and intent on living in foreign places. There will be doubt about life in his 60th year, or 20th year, or the 5th year. He will, however, live up to 108, with progressing wealth Yes..can say he was happy in his boyhood; some knowledge of arts..possible; not impotent..he has chidren of his own; not thievish but probably may lie occassionally; only 1 son...but nowadays everything is controlled; fortunate - this of course varies for all ...but yet ..in a general sense I can say he is fortunate; liberal -yes quite; has lived in foreign places -yes not recently- but travelled quite a bit; Longevity yet to see...as he is only 54 years now. 3. Navamsha of Mercury Hora Ratnam: One born in Navamsha of Mercury will be dark bodied, will have roving eyes, an even body, a broad chest, long and curly hair and charming teeth and waist. He will be short-lived, skilful in trade, courageous, wealthy, happy and endowed with an excellent female, robes, garlands and ornaments.Jatak Parijat: Liberal, impassioned, handsome and well-known for his learning and has a good name. He is fair bodied...I've already mentioned it;broad chested -yes; curly hair - yes; skilful in trade - yes; courageous - yes; wealthy - yes; happy - this is a factor which varies in the course of life depending on prevailing situations; endowed with an excellent female -yes; he loves to collect oranaments and also to dress well; Liberal -yes; impassioned - can express ideas strongly..if that is what's meant here; can be said he is somewhat handsome..though may be not to my taste; Yes, quite well known and has a good name and also a bad name....among certain sections. I hope others will come up with different navamshas of Aries natives or the same navamsha but with different attributes other than which I have mentioned. blessings Renu ent_indian_astrology , "neelam gupta" <neelamgupta07 wrote:>> Dear Sreenadhji and group,> > Navamsha is a link between the signs and the asterisms. Guest guest
Dear Sreenadh-ji, May be I could not convey my question properly. Let us say we are discussing about a planet which gets Aries Navamsha. In rashi chart, the planet may be in any of the 9 rashis (planets in Cancer, Scorpio and pisces can not get Aries navamsha). In rashi chart, the planet may be in Aries (0-3.3 deg), in Taurus (probably 10.0-13.3 deg), in Gemini (probably 20.0-23.3 deg.) and so on. If we are considering nakshatra and nakshatra pada, then it can be said that - Ashwini nakshatra 1st pada will give Aries Anavamsha - Similarly (probably) Rohini 1st pada will give Aries navamsha and so on. May be this time I am more clearer. regards chakraborty Sreenadh [sreesog]Wednesday, August 06, 2008 10:36 AM Subject: Re: Lagna Navamsa Series (Aries Lagna) Dear Chakraborty ji, ==>> As I understand, a specific navamsha ( Aries or Ta etc.)> may come from 9 rashis or more specifically, from> 9 Nakshatras.<== This is wrong. The 30 degrees of Aries sign is divided into 9 equal parts of 3.20 each. Each of them is known as a Navamsa; i.e. 1/9 the of a sign. Each of this sub division has a ruler sign and a lord. For example the first navamsa belongs to Aries/Mars; the second to Taurus/Venus and so on. All these Navamsas are OF Aries sign but only the subdivision lordship belongs to other signs. Or in other words you can say that - 1) The 1st Navamsa OF Aries is IN Aries. 2) The 2nd Navamsa OF Aries is IN Taurus 3) The 3rd Navamsa OF Aries is IN Gemini 4) The 4th Navamsa of Aries is IN Cancer 5) The 5th Navamsa of Aries is IN Leo and so on. The IN clause is used only because, 'the navamsa is notated so' and their for easy to understand and visualize. If it is said that Aries 3rd Navamsa is IN Gemini it is easy visualize that - the Ruler for 6.40 - 10.00 area of Aries sign is Gemini/Mercury. If you want to use the alternate terminology of Navamsa/Navamsaka then - 1) The 1st Navamsa of Aries has Aries Navamsaka 2) The 2nd Navamsa of Aries has Taurus Navamsaka 3) The 3rd Navamsa of Aries has Gemini Navamsaka 4) The 4th Navamsa of Aries has Cancer Navamsaka 5) The 5th Navamsa of Aries has Leo Navamsaka and so on. You statement about Nakshtra Padas is also wrong. A sign contains 2.25 Nakshatras and thus 4+4+1 = 9 Nakshatra padas. For a sign since Nakshatra padas and Navamsa are equal in number and covers the same area it can be said that Nakshatra pada is same as Navamsa. But from the above statement itself it is clear that out of the 9 Nakshatra padas - 4 belong to Aswini Nakshatra 4 belong to Bharani Nakshatra & 1 belong to Kartika Nakshatra. Thus only 3 Nakshatras are involved and NOT 9. The result derivation methodology that should be used for Navamsa and Nakshatra pada are entirely different - even though they overlap. Nakshatra based prediction and Sign based prediction follow different paths. Here we are discussing Sign based prediction, or better predictions using divisions of signs - i.e. here Navamsa. Nakshatra pada based prediction system does not come into picture at all.Hope this clarifies. Guest guest
Dear Chakraborty ji, ==>> Let us say we are discussing about a planet which gets Aries Navamsha.<== We are NOT speaking about that. In the current series we are not discussing about any planet which gets Aries NAVAMSAKA; but Lagna IN Aries NAVAMSA. Please note the difference between these terms - Navamsa and NavamsaKA. (In your question you are putting it wrongly. Planets can GET Aries NavamsaKA and planets can be IN Aries Navamsa. If a planet is IN Aries Navamsa then defenitly the planet placed IN Aries Sign; if a planet gets Aries NavamsaKA then the planet could be placed anywhere in the zodic as you puts it). The discussion is about Navamsas OF Aries sign and not about NavamsaKAs (of other signs/planets) in Aries sign which you are referrring to. ==>> In rashi chart, the planet may be in any of the 9 rashis (planets in Cancer,> Scorpio and pisces can not get Aries navamsha). > In rashi chart, the planet may be in> Aries (0-3.3 deg), in Taurus (probably 10.0-13.3 deg), in Gemini (probably > 20.0-23.3 deg.) and so on. <== Please modify the above statement as - "In rashi chart, the planet may be in any of the 9 rashis (planets in Cancer, Scorpio and pisces can not get Aries navamshaKA)". The point is you are speaking about - "The navamsaKA of other signs in Aries"; and what we are discussing here is "The various Navamsa of Aries (which falls in other signs)". ==>> - Ashwini nakshatra 1st pada will give Aries Anavamsha> - Similarly (probably) Rohini 1st pada will give Aries navamsha<== Please correct this statement as - > - Ashwini nakshatra 1st pada will give Aries navamshaKA> - Similarly (probably) Rohini 1st pada will give Aries navamshaKA And the complementary statments would be - - Ashwini nakshatra 1st pada IS (the 1st) Aries navamsha - Similarly (probably) Rohini 1st pada IS (the 4th) Taurus navamshaHope this clarifies. Note: Correct the terminology and then all the confusion can be avoided. :)Love and regards,Sreenadh , "Chakraborty, PL" <CHAKRABORTYP2 wrote:>> Dear Sreenadh-ji,> > May be I could not convey my question properly.> > Let us say we are discussing about a planet which gets Aries Navamsha.> > In rashi chart, the planet may be in any of the 9 rashis (planets in Cancer,> Scorpio> and pisces can not get Aries navamsha). For example the first> navamsa belongs to Aries/Mars; the second to Taurus/Venus and so on. All> these Navamsas are OF Aries sign but only the subdivision lordship belongs> to other signs. A sign contains 2.25> Nakshatras and thus 4+4+1 = 9 Nakshatra padas. For a sign since Nakshatra> padas and Navamsa are equal in number and covers the same area it can be> said that Nakshatra pada is same as Navamsa. But from the above statement> itself it is clear that out of the 9 Nakshatra padas -> 4 belong to Aswini Nakshatra> 4 belong to Bharani Nakshatra & > 1 belong to Kartika Nakshatra.> Thus only 3 Nakshatras are involved and NOT 9.
