Guest guest
Dear all, In the earlier posts we are talking of two eclipses occuring in 15 days. The thread was //We are looking for eclipses within 14 days time. This is very rare.// I thought of sharing some findings- 2008 Aug 1- total solar eclipse Aug 16- partial lunar eclipse 2007 March 3- total lunar March 19- partial solar Aug 28- total lunar Sept 11- partial solar 2006 Mar 14- Penumbral Lunar Mar 29-Total Solar Sep 07-Partial Lunar Sep 22-Annular Solar 2005 Apr 08: Hybrid Solar Apr 24: Penumbral Lunar Oct 03: Annular Solar Oct 17: Partial Lunar 2004 Apr 19: Partial Solar May 04: Total Lunar Oct 14: Partial Solar Oct 28: Total Lunar 2003 May 16: Total Lunar May 31: Annular Solar Nov 09: Total Lunar Nov 23: Total 2002 May 26: Penumbral Lunar Jun 10: Annular Solar Jun 24: Penumbral Lunar Nov 20: Penumbral Lunar Dec 04: Total Solar 2001 Jun 21: Total Solar Jul 05: Partial Lunar Dec 14: Annular Solar Dec 30: Penumbral Lunar 2000 Jan 21: Total Lunar Feb05: Partial Solar Jul 01: Partial Solar Jul 16: Total Lunar Jul 31: Partial Solar Two eclipses have always been occurring regularly, there is a news from 1433 which says 1433 Jul 02 - Two Eclipses in 15 Days " On Wednesday the 28th of Shawwal, the Sun was eclipsed by about two- thirds in the sign of Cancer more than one hour after the afternoon prayer. The eclipse cleared at sunset. During the eclipse there was darkness and some stars appeared. . . . On Friday night the 14th of Dhu I-Qu'da, most of the Moon was eclipsed. It rose eclipsed from the eastern horizon. The eclipse cleared in the time of the nightfall prayer. This is a rarity - the occurrence of a lunar eclipse 15 days after a solar eclipse. " - al-Maqrizi So I think this is no longer a rare event. Could someone tell me the year when the world was somewhat at peace, that would help me to check the " eclipse status " This is only a perliminary finding, we need to check the rashi , constellation in which the eclipses occured, etc Regards, bhagavathi
