dear Mrs bhagawathi,

temples in chennai did grahana dosha santhi for natives born in Punarvasu, poosam, ayiliyam, anusham and uthrathadi ( Uttarabhadrapada). Eclipse occured in Poosam so the star lord is saturn and anusham and uthrathadi star lord is also saturn. since eclipse occurs in Kataka rasi the other two stars ie punarpoosam and ayiliyam were included.

Lunar eclipse occuring on 16th aug 08/17th early morning between 1.05am and 4.14am IST. it occurs in makara rasi

natives born in stars thiruvonam, avittam, sadayam, Mrigasirisham, and chitrai have to do grahana santhi. the star lord is Mars. I am not sure why sadayam has been included because sadayam all the padas go to kumbham

good wishes,

Dear Gopuji,

You are right, the panchangam has listed sadhayam also. Sadhayam all

padas go to kumbha. I am not sure whether, the eclipse occurs on

Avittam star, since Avittam has its remainder in kumbha, also in

gochara Rahu is in Avittam, sadhayam has been included.

It could be an error also because temples follow panchangam, I

remember a similar situation arised, way back in 1990s, that time

kanchi mutt was consulted, I do not know the year exactly, I was very

young.
