[vedic astrology] EXALTATION OF SUN

The planet katu prepares us for " GYAN " .

In the science of astrology declared katu as the significtor of

moksha.

student of astrology are fully aware of the fact that planet Sun

gets exalted in the tenth degree of the sign Aries. It is not by the

mere chance that this basic truth of astrology has been formulated.

There is the whole philosophy of the vedanta behing this

declatration in which katu takes no mean part.

The fact of exaltation of the sun was, no doubt, known and

printed in books, but the reason why the sign Aries and the tenth

degree in it have been selected as the exaltaiton point for the sun

had not been stated or explained by any astrological author.

In the state of moksha the man feels his identity with the

supreme spirit and is oblivious of the world. He is thus untouched

by sin, howsoever sinful may be his surroundings. Thus the

astrologers placed sun ------ the Atma-------- the human soul in the

sign Aries---- the sign belonging to the sinful Mars(the very name

of Mars in astrology is " papi " --- the sinful) so as to show that the

liberated soul --- the soul is the asterism of katu (which the tenth

degree of the sign Aries denotes) remains untouched by the sin and

this state of the sun or the self constitutes his highest state.

thanks Azeem.

Sri Azeemji,

Namaskar!

Nice explaination.

When you have time, can you do some write-up on Sun & Ven combinations and results.

Best Regards,Raj Upadhrasta.

PS: Sri & Arya are authentic Indian salutations denoting an HOUNARABLE & NOBLE MAN. And please do not confuse them for Sir or Nazi etc. western titles.
