Guest guest
Dear Chakraborty ji, This is what I was hinting at while replying to Jaya ji. The Tantric system and Siva-Sakti worship, ranging from Kamakhya (Mother Goddess) and Pragjyotishpur to Kanya Kumari (Mother Godess) ; the Mother godess worship that is present from the ancient past of Sindhu-Sarasvati civilization to till date; the inherent driving force of India's spirituality - is the core thing behind. Nature and God; Matter and Energy; Space and Time - all dualities merges into Sakti and Siva. Rain is Sakti and Heat is Siva; Rainy season is of Sakti and Summer for Siva; Moon is Sakti and Sun is siva - the correlation goes on...Festival held on "Ambubachi": Ambubachi is a Sanskrit word; it should be spelled "Ambu-vachi"; Ambu means water, especially rain water, Vachi means words. Ambu-vachi means, (the season/month) that has water as its words. This description suits for many months, and the month selected as Ambu-vachi may differ from place to place. In south this Rainy season could be 2nd half of Taurus (Edavappati - Jun 1st to 15th), Cancer (Jul 15th to Aug 15th) or Libra (Oct 15th to Nov 15th). Rain clouds are Ambu-Vachi, i.e. they too have water as words; Rainy season is Ambu-vachi, since they have 'water as words'. The definition/co-relation of this word with specific period of time as far as Assam/North east is concerned. As Chakraborty ji puts it possibly is around the last week of June and especially may be the 3 days are special in this context. Anyway it seems to be very clear that "Ambuvachi" is a seasonal festival. (If Kaul ji was here he must have made it a big issue of associating nirayana signs with changing seasons...lol...)==>> In eastern India, people are not supposed to plough the field / do earth> cutting etc on those days. Logic is - the earth is having menstrual cycle and hence> should not be disturbed. Interestingly, the Yoni of Devi was supposedly fallen> here.in Kamakhya<== I don't know why, I like and love Sati/Uma more than Parvati. Siva, Sarasvati and Uma seems to represent very very ancient concept of god in ancient India. By the way, another passing thought - Mensus is 'Ambu vachi'; The rain of fertility replacing blood drops for rain drops... A festival, start of creation, a blessing, the presence of the creator himself... A blessing that should be worshiped.... The presence of god.....Tantrics (Prior to the advent of Vedic-Tantric mix) appreciates and celebrates this divine blessing instead of blaming it as an impurity... My wife fulfills me and we are complement...She is me and I am her...the missing perfection... I am siva and she is Sakti...pure and perfect....When I am pure she too is always....God will not say - "don't tell my name in toilet"; god will not say - "don't utter my name while you have a menses"; god will not say "don't tell my name when you are in misery"...... God is the divinity that is present in anything and everything...there is nothing that is not him....We depend on the divine more when we are in misery and when we suffer...we cannot stop to be in him due to illogical reasons such as "I am in toilet" or "I have menses" - it is impossible, divinity is everywhere, there is no hiding......there is nothing that is not it.... Guest guest
Dear Sreenadhji, I ignore always some points of your mail, and approve some points of your mail, but the point to be noted is that i always read your mails. I ignore some points because i may not approve on them, but do not argue because they are your views, just as mines can be mines, and if argument is going to solve any purpose in predictive astrology, then i would certainly argue. I approve of your linking of the signs to the seasons. I will write ittle about it tonight. best wishes, Bhaskar. , "Sreenadh" <sreesog wrote:>> > Dear Chakraborty ji,> This is what I was hinting at while replying to Jaya ji. Guest guest
Dear Sreenadh ji,Wonderful!! I admire you for your wisdom with logical approach. This is the way we should understand our ancient scriptures, customs and beliefs. The huge wealth of wisdom will be squandered and wasted if we don't learn to see it in the right perspective.
