Guest guest
Dear Sreenadh ji,I thought so. However, if you mention it explicitly it would be better for the novices. Also, the matching system we use is based on a different system that is elaborated in 'Mysore Ontikoppal Panchangam'. That looks at different kootas like Nadi, yoni, stree dhirgha, gana etc. and the total points evaluated are 36. It appears that you follow a different system.Regards,Krishna
Guest guest
Dear Sreenadh ji, Yes, I agree with all of your views. I agree very much on the point that other things in the horoscope are more important. Just to share a recent incidence: My wife's friend was looking for an alliance for her daughter and had finalized one boy. The horoscopes were matched first and other 'give-take' negotiations were over and she had more or less decided to go with that alliance. As she knew that I know a bit of astrology, she wanted to take my opinion also before giving the final YES to the boy's side. I told her that I am not going to do the matching exercise again and will only look at the boy's chart to give general indications about him. However, when I looked at the boy's chart I saw that there are severe afflictions and many health complications could crop up in the near future. I told her that I am only a learner, my reading might go wrong but I see severe health issues with this boy that could show up soon. She was in a fix now and did not know how to proceed. She asked me to give the final word on this. I suggested her to go to one more professional astrologer (not to the one who recommended the alliance earlier) and take an opinion specifically on the health of the boy. She did what I suggested her. I believe the astrologer looked at the chart for a few minutes and told her that she can go ahead with the alliance as he does not see any problem. I believe then she asked him to specifically comment on the health prospects of the boy. As soon as he heard this question from her and took a look at the chart, I believe his opinion changed completely and he strongly recommended her to drop this alliance. Of course, she found an alternate alliance in a matter of few weeks and there was an engagement ceremony last Sunday that my family also attended. What I want to highlight is that, when two horoscopes are taken to an astrologer for match making, they focus so much on these kootas and totally ignore the other important matters in the horoscope.
