Guest guest
Dear Members:This is to clarify the point about Tamil New Years day. Astrologically speaking, it is the day when Sun enters Aries Rasi. From then on, it is a new Tamil month every day when the sun enters another rasi. When Sun enters Capricon (Makara), it is Pongal in the month of "Thai". It is simple and clean. So, we don't have to worry about "Athika Masa" and a "Nija Masa" based on the lunar cycle.Best wishes and a happy new year (for those who celebrate),Anantha Krishnan Ram Jaswal <rkjaswal wrote: Namaste Sunil ji yes agreed "we" Indians like our "New Year" holidays - perhaps that's why we have so many of them - tongue in cheek? Marathis celebrate gudi padwa in 30th march ,PPl frm andra pradesh and karanataka celebrates ugadi i think 19-20 march ,nepalies nava varsha on first day of baisakh based vikram samvart i think around march 19,baisakhi in panjab ,assam ,bengal ,and bengladesh around april 13-14th and in kerala ,srilanka and tamil nadu almost 14th april . But generaly hindu astrologers use ( in north ) sun n meena rasi chitrapaksha shukla pathipatha as new yr ,which u r refering and it also officialy recognised . But astrological new year is the suns ingress to aries the sign of head of kaal purush ( also known as aja means not born ) as first sign of natural chart .so it represents nature and Lord . so she was refering to it and this time it happens to b on pushya star too .so this time the babaji ( i dont know he back calculated with some soft ware or just fooling public says it is happening once in 1000 yrs and sri chandra hari has cleared it ) generaly astrologers of Tamil nadu and kerala is following the same tradition here and they predict the effect of one yr frm this day according to the chart arrived . where as north india they use shukla prathipatha calendar for national horoscopy >but i find every thing has its own predictiv capabilites . hope i am correct other learned memebr s may correct me and add their views and opinions regrds sunil nair om shreem mahalaxmai namah . , "Ram Jaswal" <rkjaswal wrote:>> Namaste Sunil ji> > I thought Vedic New Year always start from "New Moon" in Pisces?> > Best regards ..> > Jai Sita Ram> > Ram> > _____ > > > On Behalf Of sunil nair> 28 March 2008 05:45> > Re: Prayer> > > hare rama krishna > dear valli ,> Astrologicaly new year strts when sun enters mesha sign ( aries ) ,any> one who can dabble SW can find when was in pushya star and make a claim ,i> dont think or heard Lord siva has some thing to do with pushya naskatra and> new y ear .> > rest of of the gap i expect sri chandra hari will fill as he is more into> tantra and astronomical reserch > if she wanna sit back home and study astro she can strt with KN rao s books> which is intented for english knowing crowd .> Other wise if u or she is serious and realy ready to sweat and do real hard> work and wanted to take a deep plunge into astro u r welcome and conct me> prvtly tru group .> u will know how better u can predict than all this net astros .with my> directions to living gurus whether nadi or traditional astrology .> > regrds sunil nair > om shreem mahalaxmai namah> > > , Valli valli108@ wrote:> >> > Namaste Chandra,> > > > I would hope we can all agree that it is never wrong to take the time to> be> > kind.> > & gt; > If Linda was in some way "out of line" as a new member posting her> original> > post about the Tamil New Year/Pushya star event, please enlighten all of> us> > exactly what are the "rules" for this list in a gentle manner.
