Dear Members,

I have compiled the responses and the facts in a tabular form and it is all for you to comment accordingly.

The birth data : 9th July 1925, 12:00 hrs, Bangalore. This data belonged to Mr. Guru Dutt a popular Indian Hindi-film director of his times, a legend in a way, known for his movies, camera techniques, breaking from traditional songs {his songs were "sudden" did not have any signature tune...extension of dialogues}, was a perfectionist. Married to the Venus personified Geeta Roy, known for her singing skills, married against parents wishes, she was a typical hindu woman, tried and bore all the ills of her husband with stoic nature, later got divorced....she did not resist or plead against his wish.....later she also died of excessive drinking and liver failure. Gurudutt's behavior has restricted her growth, else a potential singer and contender for top female singer alongwith Lata Mangeshkar.

The differences were more towards Gurudutt falling for dancing damsel Ms. Waheeda Rahman a famous bollywood heroine with deep enigmatic kajal dipped eyes, {kajal = eye liner} for Gurudutt was torn between his wife & heroine of his films. Ms. Waheeda Rahman later distanced herself from Gurudutt and remain unmarried till date. She is still surving and appeared in some recent bollywood films. Luckily for Gurudutt both of his women, maintained dignified silence on the issue till date.

Hard life during childhood.

He is very traditional minded, religious, intelligent (scholarly), determined and very direct in hisspeech, possibly making some enemies in the process.

Traditional may be yes.

Lagna lord, 2L,3L,8L,9L all placed in the 11H would have given him vast material gains,

He did gain materially, but it was a secondary success for him.

but at times he might have suffered largelosses of wealth due to his friends or his children.

Not known anything of this sort

He would have a large circle of friends,, but some of them may be his enemies masquarading as friends.

NO details available on this front. Common sources say this NOT applicable

I feel this native has had to work hard for all his gains, and he would be well known in his field.

Yes a pioneer of his times in cinema direction & bringing some new bold changes

His relations with both his motherand father suffered after his marriage.

The differences between mother & father were many. Mother was only 13-14 yrs, when she delivered him. Parents marital life often disturbed him

His partner is a very loyal and supportive and religious, and though his home had all thecomforts, but satisfaction is lacking.

His life partner was a venus personified. He himself to blame for the breaking of marriage.

As lagna lord and mars 3L, 8L is weak, lifespan is likely to be short, and may have ailments troubling him throughout his life

Lived for 39 yrs. Drinking habits spoiled and took his life.

His moon in Dhanista in the 5th ruling the 11th shows his riches.

He was a successful, but to put it as a rich, would be over statement.

Venus (the YK) conjuncts Mercury in the 11th in Pushya and Mercury rules his Ascendant and Midheaven. Both also conjunct the North Node which rules the 1st and 5th. (All signs of riches).(3) Saturn ruling the 5th in a friendly house in the 2nd huse of wealth. In addition it makes a backward square aspect to the conjunction of Mercury and Venus. Its ruler Venus in 11th shows his wealth his accummulated thru earnings but because Saturn rules the 5th, he also earns thru stocks and shares and other speculativeinvestments.

Not a relevant for this native. He was successful in film field. Then in those years, stock market was NOT an mode of investments or lacked its popularity

Mars with Mercury, Venus and the North Node shows there may besome loss through his rash actions but this is minor. (Mars rules the3rd and 8th). Mars action usually bring him riches thru itsassociation with Mercury, Venus and the North Node.

If he lost something that was only his wife or his girl friend.

All the 4 planets conjuncting in the 11th House is in Pushya shows that the riches he gained is through legal and ethical means. Saturn in 2nd shows his wealth accummulation behaviour. Whatver hegains, he invests it in fixed assets (Saturn aspecting the 4th House from the 2nd through the forward sextile of 60 degrees)

Not much is known on this parameter. On an enquiry, found it not applicable. He lead a modest life.

Since these two planets rule water Houses, it shows the person is behind-the scenes kind of guy

Can give 40% correctness in this statement.

Do not like much publicity and may even be a little bit eccentric. But because the planets involved arethe Sun and Jupiter, it shows in the public's image he is someone held in high esteem(especially with the Sun in the 10th).

He enjoyed low profile, he was more of perfectionist than being eccentric, had a high popular image in public. Overall the prediction made was OK taking a considerate view of words & its meaning, a tough one for any astro to accurately use it.

Dear Sreeram ji and others,Many thanks to Sreeramji for the neat presentation of the results for the blind chart reading. I thank and congratulate all the participants for their endeavour in taking up the exercise. Sunil ji's and name-is-ego ji's close and accurate analysis has reposed our faith in our techniques. Almost all could see the short life, afflicted marriage, eminence of personality, money and fame. Our ancient but sound principles have enabled our learned friends to focus on the results and happenings instead of dispensing the issue with verbosity...

Sunilji's observations and readings are wonderfully accurate....covering a lot about the person....he says..short life great dhan yogas

writing and singing dancing and…grief of others bad habbits in food may b sudden death sani dasa is 3rd…. short life chart . father may be struggled during this period .

He may be eldest child mother may be sickly also or had a distressful life… influence of mother and education might have given a decisive factor in life

His married life cant say good… he may hav so many co borns alsoearly life may b trouble some esp formating years Sreenivas ji, pls permit me to add on these points about Guru Dutt:

About coborns: He had two younger brothers, Atmaram and

Devidas, and a younger sister, Lalitha.

About Children: He had three children, Tarun, Arun, and

Nina, of which two were boys. (not all girls).

About Marriage: He married Geeta Roy around 1954. But before this, it

seems he was almost married twice! The first time he eloped with a girl called

Vijaya from Pune, and later his parents had him almost married to his maternal

niece, Suvarna, from Hyderabad.

About dancing skills: He had dancing skills, which he later

utilised in choreography. His sister has gone on record saying that at age 14

Guru Dutt would use his fingers to shape images on a wall lit up by the

flickering light of their grandmother's diya as she performed the evening arti.

He could produce inspired movements as he did when he persuaded his uncle,

Benegal, to photograph him performing a snake dance, based on a painting by the

latter. The snake dance was later performed at a gathering of Saraswat Brahmins

at Calcutta for which Guru Dutt was even given a cash prize of 5 Rupees.

He had joined the performing arts troupe of Uday Shankar at the age of 16.

Writing skills: Guru Dutt had a flair for writing in English, and wrote

short stories for The Illustrated Weekly in 1947. During this time that he is

supposed to have written the script for the almost autobiographical Pyaasa, originally

titled Kashmakash.I guess the point made by sunilji about writing and dancing seems to be valid. The multiple marriage as suggested by name-is-ego ji also seems true also.

Thanks and regardsneelam
