Guest guest
Respected Jyotish scholars First of all, I do apologize for posting an " out-of-context " mail. There is no discussion going on here about the shapes and forms of various planets or any related topic. I was reading a book and just became curious whether there is some authentic source where various " Shapes " , " Forms " and " Figures " of planets has been described? For example, like in numerical Yantras - where formation of various numbers represent some planet; does any planet represent following shapes/figures: 1. Round circle 2. Half-circle 3. A square 4. A rectangle 5. A cross ( " X " ) 6. Shape of " V " ( " V " for victory) 6. Single/ multiple vertical-lines 7. Single/ multiple horizontal-lines 8. Angular stripes 9. Various dots etc. etc. I would be highly thankful if some jyotish scholar may enlighten me in this matter. Best regards, Shyam S. Guest guest
Dear Sreenadh ji I just found a Varanasi published Hindi book, in which, under the chapter " Navgraha Mandal Pujan " , some shapes have been ascribed to various planets as follows: Square: Venus (Colour white) Half-round: Moon (Colour white) Triangle: Mars ((Colour Red) Star : Jupiter (Colour yellow) For rest of the five planets, it has give some figures - as follows: Bow for Mercury Sword for Ketu Circle with rays for Sun Crocodile for Rahu King's figure for Saturn I am told that these figures are used to invite and establish various planetary deities while performing Yagyas. I hope, somebody from this learned gathering will throw more light on this aspect. Regards, Shyam , " Sreenadh " <sreesog wrote: > > Dear Shyam ji, > 1. Round circle : Moon > 3. A square : Sun > 4.
