Guest guest
Though i agree completely that shapes may be constructs of the mind, and god, of course, is beyond shapes and mind...(saying that without meeting the guy personally ...but still isn't there something very compelling about the geometry of shapes, which possibly the tantriks were aware of....? Can we explore this in this forum which deals with ancient india? Isn't shape, like notes of music, and the " geometry " of music, that appear in compositions, related to the physical and still is beyond the physical...or the mind? ....and a part of consciousness??? , " chandra_hari18 " <chandra_hari18 wrote: > > > All descriptions and shapes etc are products of mind. Guest guest
Discrimination is needed between the concept of God and Deity. Tantriks and geometry work with deities and not with God. Meeting God is an illusion as everything and everyone is in God. Guest guest
dear friend sri harkant mehta (a senior architect from gujarat) in his book astrology - code of cosmic computer, written in 1987, elaborated various correlations of a circle with the seven planets, seven chakras and attributed the 52 letters, 52 playing cards, 120 elements, the two triangles of male and female within a circle giving the 12 bhavas of astrology etc. the significance of a circle in mathematical geometry, astrology, yantra and tantra is also well explained in this book. he also narrated in circular diagrams the planetary movements, placement of constellations and creation of the months as well. the old adage of " everything goes in a full circle " is true in its essence. if members are aware of more applicable correlations of a circle with human chakras, purusha and prakriti, holy trinity, the planets, constellations, the alphabets, elements etc., we may discuss them to share and learn more. with best wishes and blessings pandit arjun www.rudraksharemedy.com , " vinita kumar " <shankar_mamta wrote: > > Though i agree completely that shapes may be constructs of the mind, > and god, of course, is beyond shapes and mind...(saying that without > meeting the guy personally ...but still isn't there something very > compelling about the geometry of shapes, which possibly the tantriks > were aware of....? Guest guest
i do not know the difference, pardon me. Deity is more physical and has shape? God is metaphysical...beyond shape? But then god is also everywhere...in the physical and the non physical, in round shapes and perhpaps even in triangles, squares or whatever. The tantriks use a lot of symbols...i wonder at their significance and their meaning. i haven't met god...because i am in illusion. When i meet him, i too will be god, isn't it? , " chandra_hari18 " <chandra_hari18 wrote: > > > Discrimination is needed between the concept of God and Deity. Guest guest
Dear friend, Shreenadh had posted a link on hexagons some time back and their significance. Hexagon could represent two triangles one pointing up and the other pointing down something very similar to opposites / dualism which keeps popping up every now and then in ancient texts...fullness, emptiness, light, darkness, " i " , god, etc. We discussed how the points of the hexagon may correspond to the odd signs in a horoscope... This may be very muddled thinking, though.... , " panditarjun2004 " <panditarjun2004 wrote: > > dear friend > > sri harkant mehta (a senior architect from gujarat) in his book > astrology - code of cosmic computer, written in 1987, elaborated > various correlations of a circle with the seven planets, seven > chakras and attributed the 52 letters, 52 playing cards, 120 > elements, the two triangles of male and female within a circle giving > the 12 bhavas of astrology etc. the significance of a circle in > mathematical geometry, astrology, yantra and tantra is also well > explained in this book. he also narrated in circular diagrams the > planetary movements, placement of constellations and creation of the > months as well. > > the old adage of " everything goes in a full circle " is true in its > essence. > > if members are aware of more applicable correlations of a circle with > human chakras, purusha and prakriti, holy trinity, the planets, > constellations, the alphabets, elements etc., we may discuss them to > share and learn more. > > with best wishes and blessings > pandit arjun > www.rudraksharemedy.com > > , " vinita kumar " > <shankar_mamta@> wrote: > > > > Though i agree completely that shapes may be constructs of the > mind, > > and god, of course, is beyond shapes and mind...(saying that > without > > meeting the guy personally ...but still isn't there something > very > > compelling about the geometry of shapes, which possibly the > tantriks > > were aware of....? Guest guest
use of logic is a mental activity and circular logic takes people for a ride. so get rid of all logic and keep the mind free, thoughtless like the sky, free of clouds. , " vinita kumar " <shankar_mamta wrote: > > i do not know the difference, pardon me. Guest guest
Dear Chandra Hari ji, Let me add a verse from Dhammapada to your beautiful thought: " Wonderful, indeed, it is to subdue the mind, so difficult to subdue, ever swift, and seizing whatever it desires. A tamed mind brings happiness.
