degree between planets and lagna....during transits

Dear friends,

i have a friend from Russia who, i understand, is somewhat psychic. she has traced her ancestors from a gypsy clan, has "visions" and can see auras. we were chatting some time back and she asked me if i "felt" the solar eclipse on 7th.

thinking back i had a minor crisis at work on 7th which got very pronounced at night when i almost lost sleep thinking abt. it. now that i think back i think i blew it all up in the mind.

but what made the chat interesting was the query abt. the effect of eclipse and how it related to work. she told me to check up which house in the chart was involved in the eclipse....and lo and behold it was the 10th house....or was it the 9th house?...i'm not sure.

but before i jump to conclusions abt this i want to confirm whether the solar eclipse occured in capricorn or acquarius. how can one determine how an eclipse is formed from Jhora? the conjunction of sun and moon was definitely in capricorn...but then according to tropical (western) system it was in acquarious.

though my sample is very limited...and since there is talk of degrees, there are a few observations i would like to make here.

there appears to be some criticality when planets transit cusps. while mars was on the cusp of gemini on 7th, moon transited the cusp of capricorn. and then there was rahu sitting at 4 degrees acquarius. when sun transits rahu in the next few days there will be a lunar eclipse in the sign of acquarius. (?)

we can then perhaps watch out for the results in terms of the angles from the lagna and also the significance of the house in our chart when the transit takes place.

on a more personal note, astrology has done this beautiful thing for me that i watch the stars in the sky with a good deal of fascination...even when i go for my evening walks....

and when i do this i feel almost like a witch in the way wicca may be intepreted....i.e., close to nature.

but probably this thread is all abt angles in the natal chart and not abt transits!...and definitely not abt how witches might have felt when they went on their evening walks.

love,

vinita

As I am studying in UK its not possible to go thru the book once again that is there with my mother in Bangalore. If possible I shall contact her over phone and ask her some more details. Anyway, I have found its importance while predicting results in dasha to be very important. Hopefully, this sextile, semisextile, trine, etc approach can be verified more with experience rather than theories. Regarding references I am a very bad person at this because I have a terrible memory , hopefully you, Shreenadhji, Neelamji can help me here .> > Regards,> Vijay.> > sunil nair astro_tellerkerala wrote: > > Hare rama krishna,> dear vijay ji ,> > thanks for the mail .> > But if u can giv a write up abt it ,it will be more better as memebrs can test it .and we can reply with what ever they come out .> > here what i mean is any principle in jyothisha here we r testing and let us discuss with our reasons and observations and actual life happening ,once the memebrs under stood it they also will try on known charts and then we can be more sure of it .> > hope u can do it > > regrds sunil nair > om shreem mahalaxmai namah.> > > , Vijayanarasimha H Pakka hpvijaynarasimha@ wrote:> >> > Dear Sunilji,> > > > My general approach towards analyzing charts is: looking out for planet placements, planetary drishtis, exaltations/debilitations, parivartanas, karakas, any yogas, planets strengths, avasthas, ashtakavarga, divisional charts, and so on. While doing such analysis I simultaneously keep a look for the dashas running. I am not sure where I read it (some old book in my mother's library, probably book by KP), where they say that drishtis of within 30 degrees, around 60 degrees, 72 degrees, 120 degrees, 144 degrees, are good, while 45 degrees, 90 degrees, 135 degrees, 150 degrees are bad. This seems logical since they represent conjunction, sextile, trine, etc which are auspicious. Western astrology too consider this. Also the house number between planets are considered, i.e., if 5th house and 120 degrees then double good, but 5th house and 135 degrees means average. My knowledge about this obvious may be very raw, maybe someone might help me here. But coming back to> experiences,> > I have seen extremely good horoscopes (planets in 11th house and their dashas running) but the native infact suffering. In such cases, the planets are mostly at 45 degrees from lagna. Also, the degrees between dasha lord and antardasha lord seems to play a very important role in the dasha-anatardasha smooth running. These are my practical experiences. I hope we all can keep a look out for these. I have done such analysis for numerous charts and am quite confident of such approach for predicting results during dashas. > > > > Regards,> > Vijay.> > > > sunil nair astro_tellerkerala@ wrote: > > > > Hare rama krishna > > dear vijay ji ,> > > > can u clarify some for abt the degrees which can be better ,and if u hav any reasons for it .> > I also came to read some articles on it .but never tested it ,so will b happy if u can speak abt ur experiences .> > > > regrds sunil nair > > om shreem mahalaxmai namah .> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Never miss a thing.
