Dear All, I was going trough the free wiki services available. To those who don't know what wiki means- remember wikipedia. (http://en.wikipedia.org) Wikipedia is a wiki. A wiki is a place where numerous members can edit one and the same docuement - wikis are best for collaborative editing works and sites. In my search for free wiki hosting sites (known as 'wiki farms'), I found a very informative comparison list at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki_farm Then I went through each of the wikis listed there in - and specially liked 2 wiki farms in special. 1) Wikia * It uses Media wiki (the simplified version of wikipedia) to create wikis and is similar to wikiperdia. * The demerit is - there is no wiki wise users and permissions, but instead all the wikia users have access to all the wikis - this is not good; There is no way to delete a wiki even when we want to discard it - this too is not good. * It supports a complex editing script similar to wikipedia, looks good, maintains history, and is good. All wikipedia users will like this wiki, but editing, liking etc are all a bit complex. Sample Wiki: http://indianastrology.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page2) Wet Paint * It uses a custom Java based engine, and provides a nice GUI editor. * This seems to be much user friendly. Sample Wiki: http://ancient-indian-astrology.wetpaint.com/ Both the above wiki farms provide free but ad supported wikis. I have created a sample wiki with only one page in both the sites for the verification of the group members. My personal vote will go to wetpaint wiki. Give your preference and suggestion, (after checking the editing feature as well). If you too like the wetpaint wiki, we will make one of these wikis our work place for collaroative article creation.Love and regards,Sreenahd
