Guest guest
Dear Renu ji, I am not the guru to anyone!! The fact is that the group and the group experience is guru to me... Also note that as a norm we don't accept anyone as guru here in this group... Let our prayer be..."Ano bhadra kretavoyantu viswataH" (Let knowledge come to us from all directions) as told by Rigveda The irrelevant guru titles imparts only ego and prejudice and not the humbleness and happiness we are in search of... Let everyone be their own guru...Let the river find its own path..while waters comes to it from every direction.... even the dew drop contributes with beauty and freshness... and the life continues.... Guest guest
Dear Sreenadh ji, "The irrelevant guru titles imparts only ego and prejudice and not the humbleness and happiness we are in search of... " May be ......but it is a good test to test yourself whether you, Sreenadh ji, suffer from the fatal disease called ego. Besides I don't see any harm in calling someone guru from whom I nourish my ignorance. "Let everyone be their own guru...Let the river find its own path..while waters comes to it from every direction.... even the dew drop contributes with beauty and freshness... and the life continues.... " Yes, when you present it this way... ..in such beautiful words enriched with truth...I can only but agree with you. blessings Renu

Guest guest
Dear Mr.Kiran I am Muthu, trying my best to learn Astrology. You have done an excellent contribution by listing down the rules which you may not find often in any book. Its really very good. I thought of sharing what I had prepared and have been using while studying. Its nothing different from your list, but in different sequence as i found it to be very handy. I humbly submit the following from my notes and please correct it where ever i am wrong as still i am learning. General rules: 1)As indicated in Chapter-1, check what aspects of life you are interested. Define the house to see, karaka (primary significator). 2)Analyse the strength of the subject house positive or negative (afflicted) (eg. Marriage-7H) 3)Analyse the strength of the house lord (strong or weak (afflicted)). (eg. Marriage L7) 4)Analyse the strength of the Karaka of that specific aspect of life (e.g marriage – venus). Results: (5)If all three are afflicted, it will give negative results, If all 3 are positive, positive results, else mixed. -If all above 3 are afflicted, negative results(For benefic planet, benefic effect is reduced, For malefic planet, its malefic effect is increased). -If all 3 are strong/positive, positive results (for benefic planet, benefic effect gives full positive results, for malefic planet, its malefic results are reduced, positive results increased) 6)Co-relate the planet and house to get the final results based on above outcome (point 5) (Rule-10 of Mr.Kirans list). How to analyse the strength of a house (above point – (2) 1)Check what planets are placed in the house (malefic destroy the signification of bhava). It is said to be afflicted if more than 2 malefics are placed (Rahu, Saturn, Mars, Ketu, Sun – not sure about the order!). 2)Planets in trines to that specific house supports that house (if benefic are placed in trines, it supports positively). Eg. 7th house is strengthened if benefics are placed in 11th & 3rd house) 3)Check what planets are aspecting the subject house (rashi drishti and graha drishti). Aspect by benefic planets increases the strength of the house. How to analyse the strength of a Planet (above points – (3) & (4) 1)Check whether the subject planet is naturally benefic or malefic. It becomes functional benefic if placed in sustana house and functionally malefic if placed in dustana house. -Mofifiers: Rules 7 & 8 of Mr.Kiran's list (Sustana lords are good in any house in order 1H>10H>4H>9H>5H>11H (pl. verify this order) 2)Check the strength of the planet based on its status (strengths in order is given below) Uccha position > moola trikona > own house > friendly house > neutral house > enemical house > neecha position 3)Check if any other planet is conjoining the subject planet X. This can modify the results. If neecha planet conjoin the subject planet, Results of X is not good. Malefic conjuction also modifies the results. 4)Check the movement of planet, if Retrograde (same position in rashi and navamsa), it is strong. 5)Check the placement degree, if it is in border of any sign (Sandhi), its power is reduced. 6)Check whether the subject planet is involved in any yoga (yoga karaka & other yogas). Subha yoga strengthens the planet. Trust above helps regards Muthu PS: I will try to attache the same file in a word format so that learned members like you and Mr.Sreenadh can improve it. , Kiran R <kiran.rama wrote: > > Dear All, > > Attached is a document with simple to use rules in astrology - a product of discussions with learned Sreenadhji and group discussions here. > > Please review the document and if possible let us modify/add/delete rules in future versions to have a working set of rules that we can easily apply > > > This document is also uploaded to Kiran folder in Files section > Thanks > Kiran > > > > Bollywood, fun, friendship, sports and more. Guest guest
Dear Muthu ji, I appreciate your efforts and appreciate your intention to prepare the same and upload in the group - as beginner lesson. You, Kiran ji all are very enthusiastic and sincere learners and I always appreciate your efforts and such files - proceed with preparing and uploading it; either in this group or in our google group; let such things be cumulative efforts. Now coming to the practical scenario - the truth is - all such rules CANNOT help. Take this simple example - In a female chart, for Aries Lagna Saturn in 7th; 7th lord Venus gone to Leo and is aflicted by Mars the malefic; 5th lord Sun is in Libra along with Saturn. What will you deduce? Good? Bad? Good-Bad? or Bad-Good? You see simple all your logics FAIL! It is simply NOT the way to deal with practical astrology. * The above combination simply means that - There would be enough age difference between husband and wife (Saturn in 7th); It would be a love marriage (5th-7th mutual exchange); The husband may not be a person born in a well to do family and must have suffered some loses (7th lord going to enemy house in 5th and gets afflicted); But he is an able and intelligent individual (as indicated by exalted Saturn in Libra with Saturn being the 4th and 5th lord from Libra as well) Is that such descriptive and clear derivations useful - or the positive/negative/semi-positive/semi-negative kind of statements which shows just the lack of understanding of both the astrologer and the listener?!! Please don't take it negatively but instead approach my comments positively. I really appreciate your efforts to learn and understand astrology in a sensible way and that is why stating things this openly and with as much clarity as possible - quoting a 'real' example. Hope this helps.Love and regards,Sreenadh , "s_muthu" <s_muthu wrote:>> Dear Mr.Kiran> > I am Muthu, trying my best to learn Astrology.
