Dear Subbu and other Friends,

Mutual angular distance among the planets and also visa-vis Ascendant remain unaltered with different values of ayanamsa..But on account of different value of Ayanamsa.,

the zodiacal degrees shown in the nativity will change.Consequently, planets can conjoin on same degree or may fall in adjacent degree, depending on Ayanamsa value.

( but their mutual distance will not vary)

Now the mute point for Char Karka replacement is:

1 Should the planet be on same degree

2 Should the angular distance among the planets be within one degree

As Both Bphs and Jamini Updesha Sutra do not give guidance on the exact location of initial point of the

sidereal zodiac, our guide and guru Pt. Sanjay Rath can only show us the correct path on this complex issue.

My humble suggestion is :

1. In ancient past , it was not possible to pin point the location of V. E.point on the zodiac. Ayanamsa used in

Lahiri Ephemeris needs slight modification , as it is based on V.E.point of 285 A.D.

2.Our Ayanamsa should be directly linked with star Citra ( As to my understanding , there could not be any other way but to

have a reference w.r.t. a star)

In present years , value of Ayanamsa adopted by Lahiri Ephemeris is to be reduced by 57" ,enabling us to obtain Cita Paksa AYANAMSA.

Lahiri has never said that ayanamsa adopted in his Ephemeris is Citra Pakcha , but gives the basis of his calculations on page '5' of the Ephemeris.

J,S.hora software also does not call it Citra Pakcha.

If ,we choose a star as reference point , it will be definitely more reliable and dependable reference, more so free from controversies.

If the planets falling on same degree . can only qualify for Char Karka replacement , the difference of 57" can prove vital in some cases.

I have horoscope of a female artist , having AK and AMK on different degree with citra ayanamsa but on same degree on Lahiri ayanamsa.

There is no change in her professional carrier since beginning. Citra AYANAMSA seems to have some merit.Birth details are:

JULY 1, 1958 ; 01.04 A.M.,IST , T,Z 5.30 hrs, 72E37; 23N02

Dear Mr. Goel,

Why are you quoting Lahiri wrongly? Don't take an annual ephemeris and make such comments as Lahiri has never said that ayanamsa adopted in his Ephemeris is Citra Pakcha , but gives the basis of his calculations on page '5' of the Ephemeris. You are wrong. Please buy a copy of the Indian National Calendar published by CSIR, New Delhi and understand how the zero point was defined by Calendar Reform Committee.

CRC report did not acknowledge that the value of ayanamsa based on Citra was brought into use by VB Ketkara (as I remember the name) in Pune, long before Lahiri and Saha produced their reports.

You are going on repeating the same jargon without understanding the subject. Give proper references and then speak on scientific matters.
