Guest guest
Dear Shri Sivaraman ji, Namaskar! Many thanks for the Vedic month chart. I suggest you post all such details on HinduCalendar forum so that there is an open discussion, if someone wants to comment on the same. Every year the Rashtriya Panchanga also publishes a similar list. So does Lahiri’s Indian Ephemeris, in a tabulated form. However, what is surprising, is that no “jyotishi” pays any heed to the real Vedic months even in those panchangas but only to Lahiri months not only for preparing horoscopes but even festivals! And as you know, we have more “jyotishis” in India than the total Hindu population! It means every Hindu is celebrating festivals on the days as prescribed by “almighty” Lahiri and Lahiriwalas instead of the Vedas! It is also interesting to note that no Videshi Vamadeva or “Sayana Tapasvini” celebrates his/her festivals like Christmas or New Year’s Day on a wrong day, but then when it comes to Hindu festivals, they go all out to prove that “Lahiri” is the authority for deciding all these things! Of course, they do not mention the word “Lahiri” but they say “Chira Ayanamsha is the best ayanamsha”. And no wonder Hindus are taken for a ride that even videshi Vamadevas and “sayana tapasvisins” support Lahiri Ayanamsha, so that must be the real Vedic ayanamsha, since they call their predictive gimmicks as “Vedic astrology” instead of Lahiri astronomy or Lahiri astrology etc. With regards, Avtar Krishen Kaul! venksiva [venksiva] On Behalf Of sivaexpo Saturday, November 10, 2007 10:15 AM jyotirved vedic month chart.xls Dear Avatarkishan ji: Herewith a vedic month chart with the names of corresponding Malayalam and Tamil month names for your review.
