A post in VA group + A request to scholars

Dear All,

I was reading through the old posts in vedic astrology group, and

got struck in the following post-

what wonderful discussions

we had last year when Srinadh was starting wonderful research

threads, Panditji was contributing wonderfully researched posts,

learners like Renuji were asking wonderful doubts that got equally

brilliant answers,etc. Where has all that gone?

 

If any of you start a group, keep it well moderated. If you cannot

moderate it due to busy activities pass the mantle to someone equally

efficient and who is willing; don't let the wonderful group to drift

like this. People visit vedic astrology groups because of the

wonderful posts we have had from the beginning. Last year was a

great high for the group. This year we have hit a low.

mails I posted in vedic astrology group in the last year. I am also

feeling happy because of the appreciation shown for Pandit ji and

Renu ji. I remember - it is many days we have seen a mail from Pandit

ji (Dr.Ketkar), I request him to post more mails, and give valuable

guidance to us all.

I will also request Sri Dakshinamoorti ji to actively participate in

the discussion, who even though a member of this group does not

actively participate in the discussions.

* Sarajit Poddar etc

present in this group as well. I will request then to participate in

the discussions and share their views as well.

Dear Sharma ji,

It is not an easy task to prepare systematic and useful beginners

lessons. As people engaged in various jobs, and engaged in our own

research and studies, we don't have that much free time to prepare all

those beginners lessons in a systematic manner.

So I request you to get the primary info from some where else - and

the thousands of books available out there in the market.

But ofcouse, I will second Sharma ji, if someone in the group could

come up with systematic beginners lessons (as pdf files). Is there any

one in the group who is ready to undertake this task? If so please

come forward and we would be thankful to you.

Dear Sreenadh Thanks for response,any learned astrologer comming out for this noble cause,this will help new learners.Kindly advise names and authers of good astrolgy books.I have since read some hindi writers books. Colelct and read some good commentries of -

* Brihat jataka of Varaha Mihira

* Saravali of Kalyana varma

* Horaratna of Acharya Balabhadra

* Brigu Sutra of Sage Bhrigu

* Madhaveeya of Madhavacharya (for Muhurta)

It could be helpful - what ever commentaries (whether english or

hindi) you select - I don't have anything else to suggest regarding

books – it is always good to go by the originals.
