Guest guest
Dear Vinita, Sreenadh, Sunil and members: The forum is crackling. Issues remain, however. Reading some of the postings of the past few days, I gather we have got to get a little organised. New members are getting browned off by our default-moderator Sreenadh. I would love to give the final say to member Jhar Bird when he says he finds virtue in the alleged rudeness of Sreenadh, but PT will make his resolution, and Sunil says, sub silentio, "Fine, come and go." The point is if we are one of the very best as a group, we (collectively and individually) mustn't say/write unguarded words. Few, can afford to be breezy without causing real hurt to others: Vinita for one, or yours sincerely for another. But everyone can skid. As for example, me w.r.t. Vinita (I almost fell... O not for her!) Friends, PT had his views about the framework of Indian astrology in a six-limb surrender. The utility of the surrender remains moot. A similar saastanga praNipaat to a vedic savant may not come the way of a learned new member, but as he settles down he gets his due of respect: as Sreenadh explains. Sreenadh has taken pains to make PT see reason. That was lost on PT. Perhaps a better argumentation for the refutation intended would not have led to the 'dire resolution'. But what is so dire? Nothing is. Except that we should have given PT enough rope to... you know what, or alternatively, we could have climbed up his rope and vanished -- attaining some rarefied insights of astro nivarna. We could have picked his brains and benefited as he would go expanding on: >"intellectuals is lack of humility to those>who really know (gno)." How he relates gnosis to astrology >They want to figure it all out themselves when they are just like blind >struggling in a dark room. And than they want the learned to conform their >narrow parameters. Got him to lay down the parameters and lead us out of our dim room as Sreenadh does, I mean, parameters. >The Phi-re realtes to the Phi ratio (fibonacci ratio).>All of nature works on this ratio. We could have got him to ratiotinate with our partially furnished minds, and explain to our semi-learned sensibility how 'fibonacci ratio' is relevant to the tools we already have. >The Rishi's understood the Universe from> a very different plane of thought. Who knows he may have partaken of the effulgence of the universe the rishis did! Sincerely. >"We don't accept even teachers without testing. Please bear >with it for the time being. Further this group has a motto that 'No >one is teacher here'. It is a problem of strategy and approach"....>Prove it - as I told you we have a test, and teasing in the >beginning. But you see, it is just for the time being and then >everything will settle down and natural respect will come up - in the >case were ever it is deserved. He (PT) would not be moved by Sreenadh's reply. But Sreenadh could have done without the likes of this bit: > And than they want the learned to conform their narrow parameters.>OK. So you say that you are learned, and you really know! That is >great! This amounts to taunt. Even the book-brag bit could have been ignored. If we have a blameless spirit (of inquiry), a reasonably good code for politness (may you be scintillating in your wit and cracks, yet not rude) and do our reading and researching on a learned plane, people will gravitate to the forum, even subah ka bhulaa can come back home in the evening. As of now Sreenadh has been doing the nearest thing to moderating; and he has to read every word of mine here (he does, and carefully). He will go on doing it. I am sure he will be too happy to have somebody moderate the group in his stead. But we have none as yet. I am told people from some of the very reputed astrology establishments of India are invisible members here. Some have a reputation behind them, of practice or writing or research. They are senior or very senior people; they read our postings and love to keep abreast of "hey, whas goin on in here". They've got to hide their love away. Or have they? We have to keep this in mind, too, if not ask why. And strive to bring yet more light -- lights, as in leading lights -- into this room. Well, friends, I must end the spiel here.
