Guest guest Posted September 10, 2007 Report Share Posted September 10, 2007 Dear All, On referring to the previous 10 days posts on our group, I noticed some curious facts - * In 10 days only 25 unique members posted at least a single mail. * Since 10 x 3 = 30 days (a month); 25 x 3 = 75 unique member posts can be expected in a month for this group. * 120 mails in 10 days comes up to 12 mails per day. (rate of mails) * Total number of members is currently 743. * The total number of members in all the of indian astrology will come up to 25,000 approx. maximum. Conclusions: ------------ 1) Out of 743 members a maximum of only 75 active members are present. i.e. Approx 10 percentage of total group membership. This could be possibly applied to all groups with at least a mail rate of 12 mails per day. 2) Considering the total number of members together in all the groups as 25,000 the number of possible active members in all the groups will come up to 2500 only at the most. 3) The groups with a mail rate of more than 12 would be less than 10. Thus the active members in all these 15 groups will come up to a maximum of 75 x10 = 750 only! 4) For the remaining approx 24,000 group members assuming a mail rate of 1/5 th of the others the active members (i.e. 2 percentage) in all the other groups will come up to 480 members! Revelation: The total number of members making all these noise in all these groups related to astrology will come up to a maximum of 1250 ONLY approx (i.e. 750 + 480)!!! All our Sunils, PVRs, Sreenadhs, Chandra shekhars, Raths, Chandra Haris, Madhu, Srinivas, Bharat, Bhasker, Kaul, Gauravs and so on fall within this mere 1250! Considering the vast number of inactive groups, this number could be even less - i.e. possibly near to 1000 only! How much dust, how much noise, created by a hand full of approx 1000 people interested in indian astrology (call it vedic, non-vedic, kp, lal kitab, or what not!) on the !!! Qn: If this is the real scenario what do you have to say about the groups which boast 6000-7000 members?..... Eg: A group with xxxx members and 36 mails per day have - approximately 225 active members only!! The same applies to all the other groups. Note: Thus with an active member count of 75 per month, it should be concluded that our group contains 7.5 percentage of the total group community interested in astrology...that is not bad!.. hmm... really interesting!...
