Hi everybody!

My birthstone is ruby which i used to wear. I am currently running

Rahu maha dasa, and have started wearing hessonite/gomedh. I was

recently told that ruby and gomedh should not be worn together. How

far is it true? Just to be safe, I stopped wearing the ruby. Please

advise, I am really concerned about it.

Thanks in advance!

Ratna.

Dear Ratna ji,

There are not much conclusive remarks of sages available about

wearing of gems etc. Even though the same is mentioned in some slokas,

it is mentioned only with equal importance to wearing the cloths of

the color signified by the planet, eating the food item signified by

the planet, praying to the deity signified by the planet etc only.

Currently one of the general rule followed by the astrologers is to

suggest the gem stone of the Yoga Karaka planet (the planet which is

the lord of Square and Trine, i.e the planet that will bestow

beneficial results). It should also be considered that the planet

should be friend of the lagna lord as well. The gem stone signified by

that - Yoga karaka + friend of lagna lord - planet is termed the

" Lucky stone " for that individual. Wear the gem stone of the planet

that satisfies this condition.

Note: It is NOT necessary that you should change stones with every

changing dasa. But if you wish to, that too is ok.

Love,

Sreenadh
