Dear All,

I was a full time astrologer - and was charging for sure - even

though not requesting specific amounts. The querent or native was free

to give any amount of money they wish - but you should remember that

almost all the Kerala people are pretty descent and used to give least

100 and Devaprasna etc I used to get very big amounts. As far as

charging the clients is concerned if I am a full time astrologer, now

too I will do the same - no doubt - and will speak out the amount

(charge) as well if the querents become too stingy after wasting my lot

of time. There won't be any doubt in my mind for looking back on the

same or rethinking - because the idea, and conviction is pretty clear.

Yes, no advice on the same also won't be appreciated - because it is a

personal thing - any one is free to do what they feel right in such

matters. If you don't want to charge - don't do it that is all to it;

If somebody is charging, who are you to ask them not to charge!

Now I am working as a software quality engineer, and astrology

interests me as ever or more. And I am not much interested in reading

many charts - for free or for money - and the interest in astrology is

purely academical. Now if I have to read somebody's chart I will read

it for free - but if somebody is coming to me and DEMANDING a free

reading - for sure I will politely but for sure ask him to 'get out'. I

won't have any doubt in that as well - because, he can have his

decisions, but not mine. Now I can do chart readings for free only

because I have another livelihood - and no more in need of money from

astrology.

Astrologers: Yes, there would be many who read charts for free; who

take Dakshina alone; who charge fixed and at times huge amounts.

People : Yes, there would be many who DEMAND a free reading (as we

could see in most of the astrology lists); who request a reading; who

pay a nominal Dakshina; who pay a Decent dakshina; who give the amount

as charged/asked by the charging astrologer; and who pay very big

amount as a donation.

Yes, people are different, astrologers are different and there are no

hard coded laws - even if some believe so. And the main problem is we

don't have the right ask someone to do some thing for free as long as

we are not paying their house rent and food cost of food and

clothing. :)

P.S: Personal decisions are personal decisions and public public – it

is wrong to mix and match the two and jump into the wrong pits and

decisions.

Love,

Sreenadh

Namaste Sreenadh,

I was going through your post on birth time rectification. One question that popped is why the Yamas are in order of week days ( If I am reading it right) and not in the order of horas ? The horas that decide why sunday follws saturday and tuesday follows monday are based on the speed of motion of planets in the zodiac. The list is moon, mercury, veus, sun, mars , jupiter, saturn.

Thanks

hare ramakrishna,

dear sreenadhji ,

well said ,and it was my questions to who propogate this theorey to distroy real astrology which already lost its glamour ,i find in kerala now no family dont want their children to be astrologers or no body will get good allaince like an engineer or doctor if he happened take it as a full time profession ,so this free astro also should be introduced their to speed up desrtuction of the science as its the secret agenda of many .

They dont say why great varahmihira was not a free astrologer.

And offcourse they say many rishis -those days all kings will descent from throne to meet a rishi and ready to sacrifice any thing for their demands, now a days ? Only fakes r having ashrams worth 1000s of crore (majority)

Now again some one will jump with stories ,but they should practise b4 preaching. We can help the needy but who in the world can help greedy ?.

thank u and with regrds .
