Guest guest
The raising of war conch is generally done by the weaker side ( technically weaker ), for the benefit to call for a fight is generally given by the weaker of the two !! Hence, in this case it was Lord Krishna who has given the clarion call.....It was Bhishma who has responded to the clarion war call........ Further, if you see the story...it was Pandavas who have sent Lord Krishna to Dashing or Daring Duryodhan for a compromise, with a strong undertone for eventful war......, which Daring/Dashing Duryodhan refused to return the land......hence, the call for fight is given first by Pandavas...... with regards, sreeram srinivas amit trehan [amittre] Friday, February 23, 2007 8:26 PMsreeram srinivasRe: Divisional Charts Analysis Sir, i understand that... Today I read ur article in group regarding the mahabharta adn astrology. i remember when in exile(13th year) arjuna came to fight kaurva army.... Bhisma reminded Duryodhna that one year is complete..(thus bhsiama was well versed in astrology) But when krishna raised his coonch in warthat was in response to bhsima coonch.. and Krishna was not the first to do it. some where i read(dont remember where)... in ramayana Bharata says kakayi came in our life as Ketu mahadasha. any way... Guest guest
Om Sri Gurave Nama.H "Gita( 1/3) PashyeytaM paaNDuputraNaamacharya maharthi chmuma| VyuD.aM drapadaputreNa tva shiShyeNaa Dhimataa||" Duryadhan: Hey teacher( Dron) look at the huge army of Pandavas and the chakravyuh created by the intelligent son of drupad, your desciple Drustdhumn's. Duryodhan was nervous because of this sight. further in 1/4,1/5,1/6 Duryodhan explains the greatness of the army of Pandavas. Gita( 1/11) "AyuneSHu ch sarveShu ythabhagamvsthitha:| Bhismamevaabhirksh.ntu Bhavnta.H sarva eva hi||" When two sides were ready to fight, Duryodhan tells Dushasan to get fighters/soldiers ready to protect Bhisma, because, Duryodhan strongly felt that as long as Bhisma is alive, they can kill all the Pandavas and win the war, because, Bhima had already stated that he will not fight Shikhandi, which even Pandavas knew and pandavas get this information directly from Bhima, because Bhisma, Dron and Kripacharya were mentally supporting Pandavas. This basically tells that Duryodhan did not have any confidence on himself or anybody else in Kauravas, other than Bhisma, hence he suggested to protect Bhisma, because Bhisma alone was capable of defeating Pandavas, which he does, that is when Krishna and pandavas ask Bhisma" Pitamaha how can we kill you", silly but true. Gita 1/12 "tasya sa.njanayanharSHa kuruuvRidDa.H pitamaha.H| si.nhanadam vinaDhauchchaye: sh.nkha daDmau pratapavaana.h||" Then by creating happiness in the heart of King Duryodhan, the kauravas old and only bhisma started to growl like a Lion and blew his Shankha. Gita( 1/13) "tata.H Shankhshch Bheryashch pNavaankgomukhaa: | sahasyevaabhyahnyanta sa shabdastumuloabhavata.h||" After that many types of conch's Bheri, Panak, Anak, Gomukhi etc were blown by the kauravas at the same time, which created a loud and dangerous noise. Gita( 1/14) "tata.H shveyteyhayeyryukte mahati syandane stithtau| madhava: paNDvashcheyva divya shankhau pradaDhmatu.H||" Then Shri Krishna and pandu son Arjun from a huge chariot attached with white horses blew their divine conch. Basically Duryodhan was a coward and a cheat, who wanted to eat the cake and have it too, but he did not have the ability to face Pandavas alone or with his brothers, but with Bhisma on their side, he could take the risk of fighting Pandavas, and Bhisma a true soldier, had to follow his orders. thanks!
