Friends, At the outset, it may be mentioned that this case study is taken exclusively as an accademic exercise and is apolitical and sans religious overtones. Case History. Mohammad Afzal Guru, is the hardcore Islamic fundamentalist , convicted and sentenced to death , by judiciary, through Trial court , approved by High court and Supreme Court.He was the master mind in the 13 December,2001 parliament attack case, that took a toll of nine lives of security personnels.Afzal Guru is to be hanged on 20th of october,'06 at Tihar Jail. Predictably , the left , J & K CM Ghulam Nabi Azad and some other Human rights organisations has demanded Presidential clemency and commuting death sentence to life imprisonment the death sentence passed on Afzal.The BJP,

the main opposition party of India and the widow's of the nine security personnel killed in the 13Dec2001 attack has expressed disagreement with those who want a pardon for Afzal. This scribe is of the personal opinion, that in a civilised world ,State has absolutely no right to take the life of a citizen, no matter, the intensity of the crime done by him for it will serve to dehumanise the society as a whole. I thought I will resort to prasna and see what the stars foretell about Afzal's fate Querist ---Self . Query--Will Afzal Guru will be granted clemency ?
