Guest guest
Dear Chandrashekhar, I've too, heard a lot about two medieval Indian astrological works, viz.; Khet Kautukam and Dwawishd Yogavali by Abur Rahim Khan-e-Khanan (a scholar and poet in Emperor Akbar's court). Please confirm whether these titles have been translated into English and or not. Sincerely, M. Guest guest
I possess a copy of " Khet Kautukam " , It's written in Sanskrit. Some urdu terms are used in sanskrit shlokas following Sanskrit chhand or meter. In the preface, translator gives information on Dwawishd Yogavali. Abdur Rahim Khan -e - Khana has written lot's of dohas in avadhi showing his love for this country. Utkal. , " astroimran " <astroimran wrote: > > Dear Chandrashekhar, > > I've too, heard a lot about two medieval Indian astrological works, viz.; Khet Kautukam and Dwawishd Yogavali by Abur Rahim Khan-e-Khanan (a scholar and poet in Emperor Akbar's court). > > Please confirm whether these titles have been translated into English and or not. > > Sincerely, > M. Guest guest
I have this text as part of my collection. It contains 123 verses pertaining to position of planets from lagna & a few yogas. The book was printed in original verse (sanskrit + pharsee) & Malayalam translation back in 1990's. Nothing special about it. In fact it only today I picked it up since so many years - almost took an hour searching. Guest guest
c Dear Mr Imran, Khet kautukam covers 9 planet's results in 12 houses, reading the work is a pleasure, Abdur - Rahim Khan-e-Khana begins with Manglacharan like any sanskrit scholar does. Have a look at beauty of the work, I am giving first shloka - Lagnagah Shams Khetasta da lagaah Kamini Dushito Dusprajo Vai Yada ! Panya Ramrato RashiMijaan Gato Manheeno atha Irshyur Vi Dristiha Puman !! I was dlighted to see how nicely he fit " Shamsha " in sanskrit for Sun or Ravi. As per Rahim, Sun in lagna gives Lagar (thin) body, You w'd have seen in the group they people were arguing with me for Sun to be placed in Lagna of Swami Vivekananda saying because of Sun in Lagna he had a rather plump and healthy body. This is contradictory to classics of jyotish. In the 2nd part he says - Native get's bad name on account of bad women's company, his beauty is use of sanskrit term " Rama " for women and " Panya " for market, it means relationship with call girls like women, in case Sun is in Tula lagna. Kheta Kautukam is published by - Khemraj Krishnadas and Chaukhama sanskrit pratisthan Varanasi It has got 178 pages. I will send you pdf by next weekend. regards, Utkal   ________________________________ astroimran <astroimran Sun, February 14, 2010 11:42:13 PM Re: Khet Kautukam and Dwawishd Yogavali  Thank you very much Chandrashekhar jee, for informing the availability of KhetaKautukam. I will send you pdf by next weekend. regards, Utkal ____________ _________ _________ __ astroimran <astroimran > Sun, February 14, 2010 11:42:13 PM Re: Khet Kautukam and Dwawishd Yogavali Thank you very much Chandrashekhar jee, for informing the availability of KhetaKautukam.
