Guest guest
Respected Sirs, Namashkarams. I wish to perform the thread marriage (upanayanam) ceremony for only son who will be completing 10 years as on 27th May 2009 before the end of this uttarayana. A local pandit/astrologer in my village (near by Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh) suggested a muhuratam i.e. 4th JUNE 2009 at 7:56 AM. The details of muhuratam are Jeystha masa,Suddha Dwadasi thiti (12th day before full moon day), Thursday,Mithuna lagnam, Swathi star. My/Our details are given below. Father: Pubba 1st padam (26th June 1963) Mother: Pushyami 1st padam ( 31st May 1968) and Son: Swathi on 27th May 1999. I am confused whether this is a good muhuratam or not? As per my knowledge, the tarabalam for father is on that day is Pratyak tara, that normally considered as bad. This is my big concern. All the ready made muhuratam tables in the Panchangam suggests that it should be 2,3,5,7,10,11 thiti on MON,WED, THU, FRI with a list of stars including Swathi. The selected muhuratam is NOT qualified based on the above information as it is dwadasi and also Pratyak tara to Father/me. However this muhurtam is mentioned in most of the local telugu panchangams. My doubt/question/concern is, even though my birth star having bad tarabalam for that day’s star and my son is having janamatara and Dwadasi thiti, can we go ahead with this muhuratam to perform my son’s upanayanam? What is the order of priority? First the tarabalam should match and then the rest or the vice versa. Is father’s tarabalam not important to qualify the muhuratam? My wish is to perform his Upanayanam on a very strong Muhuratam so that his life will be good. Please help out in this regard and suggest a Very Good Muhuratam for my son’s upanayanam. PLEASE ADVICE.  Thank you very much sir, Jagan
