Whether Moon can give neechabhanga for Mars being placed in Kendra to itself! I would think no. For such condition Moon needs to be placed in the Kendra from the Lagna. Now we need to see what happens when a planet is placed in the Kendra to either Lagna or Moon? We know that the planets placed in the Kendra are mutual co-workers or support each other. Now when a planet is placed in either Lagna or Moon, then it is helped by the intelligence (lagna) or Mind (Moon) to break the neecha. However this in my opinion. I would like others to comment too and hence I am forwarding the mail to varahamihira. It should at least be in Kendra from Lagna for a NBY. There are about 6 combinations given in texts. But I personally would view it this way. Chandrashekhar.
