Dear Rohini,

Thank you very much for the appreciation.

Now lets go to your question. Whether Moon can give neechabhanga for Mars being placed in Kendra to itself! I would think no. For such condition Moon needs to be placed in the Kendra from the Lagna. Now we need to see what happens when a planet is placed in the Kendra to either Lagna or Moon? We know that the planets placed in the Kendra are mutual co-workers or support each other.

Now when a planet is placed in either Lagna or Moon, then it is helped by the intelligence (lagna) or Mind (Moon) to break the neecha.

However this in my opinion. I would like others to comment too and hence I am forwarding the mail to varahamihira.

Best Wishes

congratulations on your wonderful site! - nice to have things so neatly arranged rather than have to wade thru all messages and articles. also the design is very pleasing.

there is something which has puzzled me and i was wondering if u cd tell - when mars is deb, the lord of its deb sign - moon - is always in a sq to itself (as it were) - so is it that a deb mars always has neechabhanga?

thanks in advance

Dear Sarajit, Rohini,

I go by the ucchanath of debilitated planet being in Kendra from both

lagna and Moon, for NBRY to occur and here it would be Saturn. It should

at least be in Kendra from Lagna for a NBY. There are about 6

combinations given in texts. But I personally would view it this way.

Chandrashekhar.

Dear Chandrashekhar,

I would also go by that as I don't think Moon can be

seen to be placed in its own kendra and give suo moto

NBY. Hence I would expect either Moon to be placed in

the kendra to the Lagna or Saturn to be placed in the

Kendra to Lagna or Moon.

Best Wishes

Sarajit
