The *model* of modern science and its commercial underpinnings that we all are

looking towards for example and trying to fit jyotish and remedies in the same

modern framework is doable but we all may be making a bit of a hasty leap!

We are focusing on our scriptures and ancient beginnings of our Great Craft of

Jyotish but we are forgetting the beginnings of science and its revolutions and

revolutionaries. Those who had to go against the then prevailing Church and take

up either infamy, see their books burnt or even take up the Hemlock in full

public view like a common murderer! And all those pioneers murdered was

ignorance and superstition and pretty much STUPIDITY!

Religion had been very fair and an equal opportunity leveller in that way!

Anyone who wished to awaken the populace from the status quo was either

poisoned, hung or crucified.

The ways of religion and its rigidity have not changed, even in 2009. Because it

is not religion but the practitioners that must change and the Ape may not have

a low forehead any-longer but one wonders if it was just the exoskeleton that

grew or did the prefrontal contents did too! Across the species that some have

even started calling and subdividing into 'races'! Taxonomists tell me that that

is wrong! Even the Human Race is not really a race, let alone the whites, the

blacks the greens and yellows and browns and so on...!

Astrology, lofty and accomplished as we all may think it is, must begin again

and right from the bottom for it has been forgotten and so must begin convincing

in small but certain ways and not through big claims and promises, often made to

the already converted!

For those of you who believe in the verity of Atlantis and Mayan civillization

and their heights we are told were once attained -- if an Atlantean or Mayan

Scholar were to walk amongst us, would we not want proof before we begin lining

up after them in neatly ordered files of followers?

Jyotish cannot be any different! WE all are afterall the very same humans who

would not recognize, trust or believe in God if He were to walk in front of us

and give us His Business Card!!

Dear Rohini da,

Some times I feel we are all imprisioned right from the day of birth.like it or

not as torch bearers we are forced to carry on the convictions.with change in

cultures,some people find God/Almighty in their fellows/friends with or without

business cards.i agree we in this age scietific achievements mainly invasion of

cyberspace,we should start our prophesy or jyotish(?) right from bottom.but then

it always distrubs when we are told intelect/wisdon signifying a specific house

as per our ancestral preachings we feel there is little we can contribute and

express inability by referring remedies as part of God's inscriptions.This is

where something we have to despise our own birth as the bondship is related to

dharma,if that is meant as religion.

I agree with some of your views,we need to be accountable to restate jyotish and

help humans as the changed needs are understood by every one of us.Increased

reach of futuristic studies sometimes brings out only waywardness and just the

rut(y-a-h-o--o)
