guidance for mahashivratri

 respected well wishers,

 

On this MAHASHIVRATRI, i want to do pooja at my home, so please guide me what

should i do and what time should i start here at USA New York, also i want to

know that here, the bilipatras and tulsi is not available so what should i use

for Abhisheka?

 

Your guidance will be help me a lot.

Namaskkara Ashwinji,

In my humble opinion- Mahadeva Shivaji should not be offerred Tulasi and

Sindur(vermillion) at all ! Also-avoid offerring Ketaki flower and Mandaar

flowers -which in any case do not grow in USA.

We can offer any other flower or milk or Organic Sugar or Organic

Gud(jaggery) or anything like fruit,dry fruits to Him. Bholenatha is pleased

always with Saatwik Bhakti( pure devotion).

 

You may buy a Bilva Patra made of Silver and offer for Archanaa a mix of

Black sesame(for health benefits) and White Sesame (for prosperity) in Water

containing a drop of floral essence like Rose, a small grain of camphor,a

small pinch of turmeric - all these added into a water pitcher and then

recite Om namo shivaaya or

Om namasshivaaya with egoless -devoted frame of mind. Please

In fact-you can offer anything to Mahadevaji with clear and dedicated mind.

Offerring Camphor (Karpura) will be good if you are using Cow Ghee or Sesame

Oil(Til ka tel) for lighting the Lamp.

Please do not think I am any kind of expert at all !
