I am really impressed and appreciate the help and guidance you all are providing. I am suffering from depression as I am not able to get married. I am not sure whether my marriage is destined. Also I never been appreciated at my workplace though i have put in all my energy and hardwork. I did not get any promotion which is due from past 1.5 years. Bichari Priyaa would otherwise have to go looking through the yellow pages in Delhi. This is not a tongue-in-cheek message and so please not to be taken to mean that I am interfering with anyone's daal roti, as was misinterpreted by someone here recently and 'shots' were fired in air as warning!! If the moderators/owners permit, perhaps it should be permissible for members to post genuine recommendations based on their personal experience with jyotishis. I realize that the 'spoon' phenomenon would be the risk we would incur if such were to be allowed. I think I will let those who are more in direct contact with the Indian Scene to advise if what I suggest would be appropriate or even helpful. Guest guest Posted December 28, 2008 Report Share Posted December 28, 2008 Truely speaking.i have been never in touch with many " reknowned astrologers " in delhi or nearby area due to my constraints,so to recommend any....ehhh!!  Your suggestion is worth and surely few " fixed " names will again emerge more likely as usual  Also why i suggest Priya ji,allow me to repeat like " Kaida " of LKG.  If one is sick, then he/she go to a professional and a specialized doctor to get cured &  treated and do not go into a doctors forum where they are discussing medical terminology and sharing their experiences and hope to get cured. Ofcouse, Priya ji might not understand the technical jargon used, but then that is the forum she decided to go to.  As she want a specific reading on her chart, so my suggestion was to go to a good astrologer in " local area " , book his time, and sit with him or her,after giving them enough time to study your chart and then they should be able to give a proper concrete answer. Like you, I too have never been in touch with great astrologers but this year-end as every other one for some years, I was cleaning up my basement and getting all tidied up etc, for next Christmas! I ended up with this tall box that had been with me since my Fisher Avenue days (early 90s) and like memories, I cherish it too, but it must now be looked into! When I entered its entrails I found two GIFTS!! My Wordperfect 12 disk that came with a computer that is not mine any more!!! But the other FIND was very interesting too... It was a 11 x 17 inches or so plastic bound certificate with a green betel leaf that held the message! The envelope clearly stated <please do not bend or fold> but the Indian or Canadian postal service did not listen! When the gift arrived it was desecerated, violated and bent already! Dated 10-07-1999 signed by none other than the Great Sri K.N. Rao and one S.R. Sharma, Adviser Astrology Courses AND Controller of Examination, respectively, it was issued by Institute of Astrology, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, New Delhi to me! It was a *beautiful*? token to me given by Rao and Sharma for whatever reasons back then but I recall KN Rao cautiously asking me back then before he signed -- what exactly I was doing in Canada back then and when I sent back a somewhat haughty but realistic response because ... well let us not go there ;-), he very quickly pointed fingers at the INSTITUTION that they were ASKING and not HE! I trusted him of course ;-) According to this *certificate* from Institute of Astrology, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, signed by the Controller of Examination (BUT NOT COMPTROLLER as would be the norm in MODERN Universities!) I have been placed on record for the distinguished service rendered towards teh awareness, acceptence (typo!) and promotion of Hindu Jyotisha (typo again!)! I rest my CASE! I am keeping the *box* because my original chair came in it and without *ASSan* no good jyotish can be done! Also, it is kind of just the right size to keep mementos and old software boxes etc! It is good to hear now that they have dropped the pompous 'mp' and adopted the more natural 'nt' in administration! Also, unless I was misinformed KHV (aka BHU) was awarding degrees and diplomas in Jyotish as part of courses offered under its Sanskrit Department back in 70s and earlier. I am indeed truly sorry to hear that there is such a plethora of jyotishis but a dearth of jyotish in the very seat of learning that the likes of Mr. KN Rao and his associates struggled for and against the tides that prevail there.
