Guest guest Posted December 13, 2008 Report Share Posted December 13, 2008 Dear Members, I had been critisised for not allowing business mails from anyone or been selective for that matter which is not trye just to prove the point I am allowing 2 mails now that keep coming and am deleting them as a sample none of u wud have seen this in the past 8 months at least 2-3 come a week on varous topis and I can pass them saying there r many who need jobs or changes or growth prospects in career as we do cover such cases when I said on gemstones I SUGGESTED to post a web link in the database section for a quicker reference to members and a periodical mail suggesting that link esp in queeries seeking gemstone recommendations is the best way than search tons of mails on the from achieves I was critised so am doing this 2 approvals I DID NOT ALLOW GENUINE RUBBIES, RIDRAKSHAS and other gemstone mails from different members. I have no where criticised you, but just mentioned that when you are allowing other advertisemnts ( Plenty of them ), then what was the reason for not allowing a mail which was for offering Genuine gems and certified Gemstones. How can you equate Gems with toilet Paper ? I would like to ask you, also that are those mails not business mails which tell the reader that the Poster can be contacted personally on private Id for Paid consultations. Dont you too write this in your mails ? So why cannot we call this as a business mail ? And How can toilet paper be astroligical related and Gemstones not be astrological related ? You are allowing others to sell their wares for which they do not have certifications, but here you call it a bsuness mail for a person who is intio authentic selling ? Guest guest Posted December 14, 2008 Report Share Posted December 14, 2008 Kumar ji, Neither you nor any astrologer who is getting paid for doing an astrological service privately should ever feel the need to have to explain or justify why they are getting paid or how much or whatever. It is puritanical and downright silly to entertain such out-of-this- world-reality concept that some of the older jyotishis have promulgated that jyotish should be done for free and one should not ask for a fee but accept donations and offerings! This is ridiculous and hypocritical in my view. Donations are given to the needy and offerings are made to Gods! Astrologers are neither! Other than a few who may be doing it purposedly to eliminate their karma and that is perfectly fine because giving charity (money, food or astrology advice or medical attention to the poor for free) is a legitimate and time-honoured karmic remedy! But to turn that into a code of conduct that everyone must follow is simply ABSURD! We are individuals and each will have a different reason and reasoning for doing what we do. I seriously doubt that anyone from this group is out there purposefully to scam people and to mint money from astrological readings! For that to happen, the astrobaba would have to invest in a flashy website, and TV ads! None of those characters would probably have the time to spend on a forum like this. Now -- I do not wish to generalize because there may be a few other commercial forums out there one or two have been named already (!) over the years! My request to all sincere jyotishis is to stop this paranoia and get on with our lives and pursuits instead of wasting other people's times and introducing and injecting doubts and aspersions etc. Perception is reality but is reality just what we perceive, individually or collectively?
