dear friend

as per shivapura, rudraksha are found available in various countries

including indonesia.

however, while narrating the description of the rudraksha, it is

clearly mentioned in all ancient scriptures that the rudraksha must

be round in shape. applying this conformity, only nepalese rudraksha

are perfectly round in shape.

rudraksha from indonesia are mildly oval in nature and their size,

weight and clarity are not that good compared to nepalese.

indonesian rudraksha cost a fraction of the nepalese rudraksha which

itself suggests the demand for nepalese rudrkasha.

as a person dealing in rudrakhsa, i can only say that all rudraksha

shall give equal results from any country but applying conformity

descriptions, nepalese rudraksha shall be preferred and according to

this description, am dealing only in nepalese rudraksha.

from the above, you can draw your own inference to go for whichever

rudraksha you like or afford.

with best wishes and blessings

Varun ji,

rudraksh has been finding mention in sacred texts but its

mention in lalkitab is conspicously absent. What planatery

configuration can it be associated. The fruit is like a guava with

seeds compressed which is in shape of rudraksha. Another interesting

factor is that the seed has a strong resembelance to brain.

Regards.

Kulbir.

Dear Kulbir bhai,

Amongst the sacred objects of Hindu religion, rudraksha is the most sacred. As

you have said it gets mention in Padma Puran, Shiv puran, Skand Puran, Ling

Puran and quite a few Upanishads.

Planetary karkatwa is assigned to mundane objects of the world ; the objects

which ,in a way, are subject to planetary beneficence or maleficence. A

spiritual sacred object like Rudraksha can not be bound by such things.

Therefore I do not think it will be prudent to assign a karakatwa of a rudraksha

to a planet.

If one treats a Rudraksha merely as a fruit gittak [ gittak like that of aadoo],

devoid of its spiritual and religious significance, then it would be placed

under the karkatwa of venus.

If one goes by the mythology where a rudraksha is considered tears [ of lord

Shiva ] then it could be considered as a karak of Moon.

Traditionally various Gods have been assigned lordship over different mukhi

rudraksha. Similarly it is said that rudraksha with different facets enhance

different planets and thus planets are also associated with different mukhi

rudraksha.

I personally do not approve of assigning a karkatwa of any planet to a sacred

object like Rudraksha because I consider it as Lord Shiva personified.

I believe that the Lal Kitab too didn’t mention the karkatwa of Rudraksha

because of it being considered a highly spiritual sacred object.

Have a nice day

Varun Trivedi
