Remedies, gems and planets

Hello, group,

I am a new member and would like to get some clarity re remedies. I am a bit

confused as

different sources suggest opposite opinions i.e. Jyotish-remedies.com: When a

planet is

malefic for you according to Jyotish, never strengthen that in any ways, and

propitiate (Pacify)

it. (what does it mean, should I just propitiate it or never strengthen nor

propitiate?)

Then according to Asroved.com: Reciting planetary mantras can increase the

positive energy

of a planet, neutralize any negative influence, and enable you to connect to the

planet's

energy. All of the following helps alleviate karma and act as an agent for

peace. Does it mean

that even if the planet is malefic you can still neutralize its effect by

chanting mantra for the

planet?

Now about the gems: astroved suggests gems by :birth sign, by month of birth and

by planet.

If I go by all of them ( diamond, pink opal, tourmaline, red coral) there will

be gems that are

suggested to be avoided by my ascendant (Scorpio) like diamond, red coral which

is the gem

for Mars, malefic planet for me, as far as I know. I am afraid to strengthen the

planet that is

not benefic for me and create more problems.

Can someone share the knowledge please?
