Dear friends,

I am in a puzzle, kindly give your view, one of my friend having

Shivling (made of PARAD) at home (home puza ghar or a small house

temple as generally all we have at home).

He is doing worship of lord shiva and offring JAL (watter) in puza

time, some one told him that – one should not keep shivling in home.

In my personal opinion there is no harm in worshipping of lord in any

form, but I also saw a TV program in that one BABA who was telling

not to keep Shivling or any Yantra at home. Here in this case my

friend is having – 1. shivling (parad) 2. Shree yantra made of silver

3. Ashtlakshmi yantra made of copper 4. Navgraha yantra, and some

photos, also having one idol of goddess – doing daily worship.

Now what I think – if one is doing daily worship- then no harm in

keeping, but if not worshipping then one should not keep these things.

I need Expert's advice clearly should we keep shivling at Home or not

if not pls explain why ? is it based on any shastra like Purana or

Veda or some where. Pls quote the source.

Lord Mahadev is lord of lords (Bhagwano ke Bhagwan

hain). Nothing can be more asupicious than

Shivling...remove any fear or apprehension in this

regard...and also do not perpetuate this kind of thing

by quoting somebody (who may not be having even the

basics correct)...

Best Regards

Manoj

dear niket ji

The pooja vidhi and tantras according kerala parampara maintain the

view like this .

There 2 kinds of prathishta is there we generaly uses for poojas ,one is

chara in nature ( means u can move it to any where ) and other one is

sthira ( its fixed and done according all vidhi vidhan and prana

prathithta like this ) U can refer tantra samuchachayam and keerikkat

pacha ( this text is in malayalam ) ( but dont ask me any books since i

am in delhi ,u can ask if u want to RK puram mandir and consult

nampoothiri there since it is near u )

so chara kind is with normal ppl where as all mahakshetras and temples

keeps the other one .

even in chara there is pics only which dont even require daily pooja in

purticular format ,where as yantra ,shivling ,salagram,or laxmi sankh

etc needs daily pooja with naivyedhya and shodasa upachara poojas (

offering or prasad too )also if possible depending on ur promise while

it is given to u or when u acquire it .but u can do according to ur own

version but follow a fixed pattern ,Also shudhi and shradha is required

,so has to keep all sanctity in the area ,so long as it is there .

so i blv no problems in keeping shivling so long as u hav time and

devotion .because this kind of poojas can activate the enegies inside

the moorthy and can b blessing and destructive too ( if more mistakes

and omissions happen s )

rest all in hands of god ,

Dear Sunil Sir,

You have explained the the intricacies of pooja very nicely. This is how one

should adopt worship of Gods.

Infact poojas in temples are services helpful to mankind as as suddhi and

shraddha in long term may not be easy for humanbeings.sadhana of these practices

certainly helps.

Om Sri Gurubhyo Namaha, Harihi Om.

Dear Mr. Niket saraswat,

For worshipping any yantra or idol of any Gods at home there are some guidelines given by elders.

Here are few of them,

Height of the ldol should not be greater than greater than right hand thumb of worshipping person.

If height is greater then ask opinion of few pandits.

Daily worshiping is required.

I personally feel there will be no harm if worshiping is done daily.

Thanks & Regards

Vinay
